I would be on the phone so fast when I got home if I was a Steelers fan. While I applaud the gesture, it's not cool to subject someone to a cross country flight after you've immediately just made their day worse by reminding them of the L. People want to relax and enjoy the flight, not lament the brutal loss they just endured the day before. Unprofessional.

On the phone to who?

And what would you be telling them?

Get a grip on reality. Some people have jobs and important stuff to do rather than take phone calls over some light jabbing.

Hopefully they'd laugh and hang up.

Understood Hoof. But this falls under customer service issues to me. People pay good money to fly, and I don't need to have the comapny in which I just dropped hundreds of dollars with taking shots at me as I board my plane. I'm hissed off enough, and I find that to be uncool for a company to allow customers to be upset like that. It's the same thing as someone complaining about the cheese not being melted on their burger. It's stupid yes, but if I find it offensive enough to make a phone call or e-mail over it, then hey it should matter to someone. Ultimately it's not like you're going to get a rebate or free plane ticket over it, it's just the way I personally operate. I at least want to make my opinion known. And in business as I'm sure you know, what may seem insignificant, can hold some serious weight given the right circumstances. Perceived or real slights like this happen every day. It's why companies have customer feedback lines, survey cards, etc.

If that's what's going to cause you to pick up the phone to complain to the airline, you've got a symptom of a much bigger problem.

Hell, flyers have more to complain about than that, like buttheads shoving pianos in the overhead to save $15.00 in baggage fees than a few words at the gate

I will throw my two cents in on this one.

I agree with the poster that said it was the wrong place to put the sign - the airport and returning Steeler fans. Put it out somewhere, but not the airport. Not that I care about Steeler fans, IMO, the most arrogant fans in the NFL. I am sure they thought they were going to win, and knowing their fans from when I went to Patriot games, I am sure they were loud and obnoxious when they showed up in Denver. But still, just because they act that way doesn't mean you have to. That makes you no better than them.

I will say I am really surprised about Denver fans. I was neutral on them before we faced them a few weeks ago. Knew they had a good fan base, which I think is good for all NFL teams. They should have support. But sorry to say, I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth after visiting their site that week, and really want the Pats to beat them on Saturday. Just to shut them up. And Brady, spiking the ball after a TD, he never does stuff like that - so I can imagine what he was listening to during the game in order for him to do that. Realistically we do not have a chance to win the SB, but I really want this win on Saturday.

I hate to say it, but I put Denver fans right up there with Steeler fans - no class, obnoxious, arrogant, mean-spirited. And I may be the only one in America to feel this way, but all this Tebow talk annoys me. The guy is getting way too much attention for what he has done. Whatever, this is the media we have to deal with - it is what it is.

So yes, Steeler fans got a dose of their own medicine. Guess that is good to some extent. But, if they are just like them, then I can choose to want to see them crushed in the Orange as well.

So this is one Pat's fan wanting very badly to see Tebow and company go down the tubes on Saturday. That would be my Super Bowl win --

How about the Super Bowl being your Super Bowl win??

What makes you think you guys realistically don't have a chance? I see the Pats with as good a shot as any team left in the playoffs.

Because I am a realist. I don't see through rose colored glasses. This is the first year in a while that I see greater talent on the NFC side. It is what it is. But I think the Packers are going to have their hands full with either the Saints or Giants. Not the 49ers, don't see that either. Should be fun to watch. I know, any given Sunday --

I thought the Packers were a lock a few weeks ago, now not so sure. Thought the Lions were peaking, and then they played the Saints. End of that story. Would have liked to have seen a Lion win if the Pats did not win. Well, forget that. Just would have been good for their fan base - although got to tell you don't like their coach much. Think he is a jerk.

The Broncos fans - I do not make statements lightly, just off the cuff. I was really surprised at the fan base. Really surprised, oh jeez Steeler fans. We don't play them enough for me to have known. But now I do. Kind of like you and Eagle fans - you know who they are, and if they won the SB, it would bite. Never hear the end of it. Glad our division is not in the same as the Eagles. Oh, just caught your username, hope you are not an Eagle fan - ouch, to me if you are.

Me, our division - Jets, Buffalo, Dolphins. I like the Dolphin fans, Buffalo fans. The Jets, kind of neutral. Yeah, they can get out of hand, but nothing like Denver or the Steeler fans. Just me.

So it would be my SB if the Pats beat the Broncos. I know almost everyone in the country will be rooting for Tebow -- OK, whatever. Just not me.

And yeah, they are now on my list -- the Denver fans. Right up there with Pittsburgh fans. Guess the Steelers have nothing to complain about, they act the same way. It was much worse when Cowher was the coach -- that guy, you have got to be joking.

That's the chance you take when you travel to the opponent's city for a game.

That's the chance you take when you travel to the opponent's city for a game.

It's all about how you look at it.

I only went to one SB - in '86 against the Bears. We didn't just get beat, we got slaughtered. It was painful, just trust me. Another margarita please -- they serve those in the Super Dome. Cool.

On the way out of the game, Bear fans came up to us, rubbing it in. Went out of their way to find us. Tacky. I guess I should have negative thoughts about that, but don't. Really know nothing about Bear fans. And I know already, some fans of every team are going to be jerks, the nature of the game. It is more a question, is it the majority, or just the few jerks -- and the world is full of them.

Now, this board I can come on and post -- without a hassle -- good fans. I like that in a fan base, where you can just talk and be objective overall. Yes, always the few. Always going to be that way. But on a big picture basis, are the fans OK??? I find Cowboy fans to be like most fans, good fans but not over the top --- like wishing a player on another team to be hurt, just because they could. Nope, don't like that. It is after all, just a game. And if you don't win, then get over it already.

I learned a lesson from that SB trip. And will never go to another one, not that we are going or anything. I never needed to be told that rubbing it in, in an obnoxious way was good behavior. Yes, yes, it is just a football game. Enjoy it, but do not go out of your way to bring pain to someone that is already hurting. I would never do that. I really don't get that.

So bottom line, if you are in your house, hoot it up. Have fun. But never go to another stadium and be a jerk, show some respect. And when you win, be a good sport about it. But certainly never run after someone to rub it in. Nope, classless.

There will always be the jerks, and they seem to be increasing by the day. That doesn't mean you have to act in the same way. If I did go to another SB (which I doubt), and we won, there is no way in hell that I would make it a point to go up to someone that just lost and rub it in -- nope, would not do that. Just go home, and be happy with the win.

I think being a civil human being is important. Even in something as minor as football (and in the scheme of things it is minor). And really do not understand why fan bases are so different. You would think they would be the same. But they are not the same. I met many people - fans from another team - that went to Patriot games when we lost (which was a lot in the old times), but they did not rub it in. Just the few teams - like the Steelers. Now, I add to that list.

Civility - how about that - just plain civility. Football, or whatever.

OK, said enough, but just my thoughts on it. And would like a little butt kicking on Saturday, even if the world has the Tebow fever.
