Deion Sanders (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Deion_Sanders) , the Pro Football Hall of Fame (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Pro_Football_Hall_of_Fame) cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Dallas_Cowboys) and an analyst for the NFL (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/National_Football_League) Network, joined the Ben and Skin Show on KESN-FM 103.3 in Dallas on Thursday.

On what he thinks of Tony Romo (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Tony_Romo):
Tony's an exceptional quarterback. I think he's one of the elite quarterbacks in the game. He's on the second tier. He's not the Brady, the Brees the Mannings, the Aaron Rodgers (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Aaron_Rodgers). He's not that. He's in that second tier. And there's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with that at all. And he has some weapons. You can't say he doesn't have weapons. Especially when he has a running game, I think he can be one of the best. Statistically he's going to go down in history as one of the best, but you can't give him those accolades because they hadn't won. And I'm not saying Tony hasn't won. I said they hadn't won.

On the comparison of Tony Romo to Tim Tebow (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Tim_Tebow):

Are we sure this isn't a Deion impersonator? He's actually saying some stuff that makes sense.

Yea this sure is a new tune he's preaching. Its not consistent at all with what he was saying about Romo just a few months ago.

Second Tier, and Elite... just don't seem to go together for some reason.

Eh, it is still an olive branch to Tony. A gesture of consolation. An admission that perhaps, rash statements had been made. It's all good.

I don't care what Deion Sanders thinks, whether I agree with his statement, or not.

This flawed opinion was brought to you by Deion Sanders, who is among the 'second tier' of elite TV analysts.

In other words, pay no attention to it.

Geez.....did someone finally pound the TRUTH about Romo into Deions skull. A lot of us have been saying this for years. Sanders has been saying the exact opposite. Now all of a sudden he see's the light?

He's been pretty consistent in pointing out how Romo statistically will finish as one of the very best to ever play. As far as how he ranks Romo with current QBs, he's been pretty inconsistent. But i think that's the mistake most of the TV "experts" make. Everything is week to week.
