It is widely speculated that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be the amateur paired with Tiger Woods at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Feb. 9-12.

PGA Tour pro Ryan Palmer, who lives in the Metroplex and is friends with Romo, confirmed as much as well, telling PGATour.com that Romo already told him that he is playing with Woods.

Tiger liked playing with Romo when they played together at congressional, not surprised to see them matched up together.

Certainly understand why Tiger likes having Romo as golf buddy. Tiger realizes Romo fully understands pressure situations like Tiger constantly endures. Also doubt Romo hits Tiger up for autographs, etc.

Tiger probably views Tony as the perfect partner. Tony plays at a high level and understands golf etiquette. He also understands the level of competition and pressure. It is likely as close to playing in a regular PGA event as possible for Tiger.

I'll be rooting for Phil if he is in the field (or Dustin Johnson) and watching for Tony, not Tiger.

Now CBS sports is saying that Tebow may be Tiger's partner at Pebble:

I hope it's Tony, but I'm sure the ratings for Tebow would be terrific.

As long as Tony doesn't ask Tiger for any marital advice. :)

Maybe Tiger will ask for any old phone numbers Tony has in his black book he is not using anymore.
