Or did he? Tomlin wanted him back. He had told people he Assad coming back. But his retirement was announced by the Steelers in 1 paragraph release. Speculation is Art Rooney II forced him out.
Naw, this stuff doen't happen around the NFL. Especially in Pittsburgh.

That can't be so. Only JJ can do that!

I've read a few Steeler boards about this "retirement" and it seems most of the fans are overjoyed by this. The main theme appears to be "now we can move forward, build our D back up, get a real full back again and drop Ben's throws to 20 a game....back to Steeler football baby!!!"
I think Tomlin wants him back because now Tomlin will actually have to coach. LeBeau and Arians ran the show and the remainder of the players from the Cowher era are in the last stage of their career.
I kind of agree with the thought that Bruce may have been forced out. I find it hard to believe that he would just straight up retire. I don't think he's done.

Regardless of the results in2011 I thought staff was up to the Head Coach everywhere except Dallas. How many times have I heard about the Steelers way?

In Indy, they seem set to hire a defensive coordinator before they hire a head coach.

Jerry Jones is truly a trend setter . Just look at the teams making Jerry moves .

They will miss Arians. His play schemes were terrific in getting WR's open.

This cant be,the steelers dont do things like this..they wouldnt have a rapist as a qb or a wife beater as a lb or wr using drugs or kickers being kicked out of bars or another wr who cheapshots...etc,i could go on but the steelers just dont this,right?:laugh2:
