Parents should of told you the effects of drug abuse. This team is nowhere near the Giants. I know the Giants aren't all that, but once they get on a roll, they're near impossible to stop. Our team doesn't know the meaning of getting hot. They might sling together a game or two here and there to pull you in and then come crashing back down to earth a week later. We would of never done this in the playoffs.

I think we have more talent - which means nothing. I wouldn't trade any of their TEs for Witten. I wouldn't trade any of their Wideouts for Bryant or Austin. I wouldn't trade Eli for Romo. I wouldn't trade Bradshaw for Murray.
But they ARE a better TEAM. They work together better. They communicate better. They execute better. They know their playbooks better. Everyone is on the same page better. And everyone hustles better.
I hate the Giants but it's the truth. Now I need to go vomit over the fact that I have to look at Eli's dumb face for another 3 weeks.

The Cowboys might be better at quarterback and halfback.
But there's absolutely no indication the Cowboys are better at receiver. In fact, all statistical evidence suggests the contrary.
And while the Cowboys may be better at linebacker, they're inferior in the front seven overall and the secondary.

I'd take Victor Cruz in a heartbeat. Manning is just as good of a Qb as Romo if not better. (two super bowls vs one playoff win). He also is the reason they are in the Super Bowl this year, no giving his D all the credit now. He has been clutch this year.

Are we? Nicks, Manningham, and Cruz was a heck of a trio this season. I love Dez, Miles, and what Laurent gave us this year. But I wouldn't be quick to say that our receivers are better. I still would take Dez over any of them. He has great potential hopefully starting in September 2012.

The funny thing about their secondary is that they lost Thomas for the year, Amukamara for the first half season, and Ross was banged up as well. Yet they performed solidly down the stretch with the addition of getting healthy at spots. If there is one thing we can take from these playoffs, it's that we need to address the secondary. Because NY's, 49ers, Patriots, and Ravens secondaries put our secondary to shame.

I agree. The difference between the Giants and Niners were special teams and the quarterback.
When the Niners needed him, Smith couldn't move the ball. The Giants couldn't either, but Eli Manning at least got the Giants out of their own territory.
Alex Smith only had about nine completions. He was basically given a Tebow game plan, but, unlike Tebow, he couldn't deliver in the end.
Eli proved his worth during the playoffs. People can knock him if they want. But he's playing in his second Super Bowl. And he didn't wilt under the Niners furious defense.

Yep. Certain fans like to think that Manning is an average QB who benefits from great pass protection. Well, today he got knocked around worse than Tony has in quite some time and still came out on top.

What Eli and Peyton seem to be great at is getting on the same page with their WRs. They just have incredible chemistry with whoever they're throwing to. With Eli it was Plaxico, Toomer, Steve Smith, Manningham, Nicks, Cruz, etc. It doesn't matter - someone can just step in and they'll produce. With Peyton it was Harrison, Wayne, Stokely, Gonzalez, Garcon, Collie, etc.
I don't know what they're doing during practice and in the film room but there's a trust between all of them. They know where to run their routes and where to expect the ball.

Romo 2 Austin.....take a deep breath, swallow a chill pill, and relax.
The Giants are the better team. They beat us twice. They won the division. They won 3 playoff games and are headed to the SB.
It makes me sick to say it, but facts are facts. Their defense is far and away superior to ours. Their OL blocks better for their QB. Their WRs are more clutch.
Ever since the Dolphins game, the Giants have been clutch in close games. We on the other hand we choked away big 4th quarter leads all season long.
Throw your temper tantrum all you want.....toss your milk and cookies all over the floor.....but not of that will change the fact that we are an inferior team and organization to the NY Giants at this time.

I think this is an exaggeration in the other extreme. They seem pretty comparable to me. Our trio had more TDs then theirs. Not sure about the yards, though. And if you include TE, I'd say the Cowboys receiving corps is the better overall unit though there's no denying the G-men have a talented corps of receivers.
Come to think of it, it would be very hard to pass up the Cruz-Nicks combo. I'd like to see Cruz do it another year before making the switch, though.

I'm with R2A (ask me two years ago and I'd have never though I'd have said that. Some people do learn). The Cowboys had a better point differential against a similar schedule. Over the course of the year as a whole, we outplayed the Giants. They got swept by the Redskins, for crying out loud!
Not saying we've have made the same postseason run (in fact, it's pretty unlikely), but on the whole, for the 16 games we both played, we were better. When your data set is that small, you can't throw out older points in the interest of having more recent numbers - it will hurt your model. Everyone is focusing too much on the last month.

The makeup of both teams is what is more telling to me. Members here could argue all day about who scores more, who holds the other teams to less points, who has the better QB, better RBs, better WRs. What I do know is, this team seems to tuck its tail and run when the adversity comes galloping on the horizon. They get punched in the mouth and that's a wrap. They aren't nasty, they aren't gritty. We just sacked your QB? No problem, we'll dust off his shoulders and help him back up. They don't need to be all Harrison or Suh nasty, but a little healthy disrespect for the opposition could go a long way in to changing the attitude of this sissy team and defense.
The Giants just have that attitude that we lack and once they get on a roll, you can have some confidence that they're going to do everything to keep it going. When this team finally strings together a few solid wins it usually ends in a just as epic failure.

I don't see why it is so hard to believe. They swept Dallas, stomping them in to the ground the last game. The dominated the Falcons. They put a hurting on the team with the best record in football, Green Bay, on the road. They survived a slug fest with San Fran on the road at their house.
They will now go to play the number one seed from the AFC in the Superbowl. If they win, then they deserve to hoist that trophy.

Giants are in the SuperBowl... We were a better team, that could've been us....
"Video killed the radio song"
IS NOW
"Parity killed the National Football League"
Giants and this late run nonsense... No more dominance in the NFL.

how some here believe that Romo is no question a better QB than Eli. I'm not saying by any means that Eli is better than Romo, I would actually say they are pretty even. But it is amazing how some on here make it like it isn't even a debate.

:laugh2:
Come on now.
Romo played outerworldy in that first game vs the Giants...and we still managed to lose...at home.
They just plain beat us the second go-around.

If you are there, then you deserve to be there. So, the Giants for sure belong there. I say the same for my Pats.
All year, I thought to myself, it is a rebuilding year. No way in hell did I ever think they would make it to the Super Bowl. I said, OK just get past Denver, because I am now in the position of putting Denver fans right up there with Pittsburgh fans. Plus I think their players play dirty - they hit to hurt. Don't like that one bit.
I feel really bad for the Ravens and 49ers. Really bad. What a lousy way to lose. Imagine being the Raven field goal kicker, or that young man from San Francisco fumbling on the kick-off. Imagine trying to wake up the next day and dealing with that!! In essence, one play which results in a loss for your team - that has to sit with them. Ouch. Would not want to wake up today and be one of them.
And Flaco actually played a much better game than Brady. Brady had a terrible game, yet we still won. Usually that never happens, it all sits on him. It must be such a relief to him to know he has team members that will pick it up and cover for him. Wilfork and Ben-Jarvis. Great stuff guys.
So to me, I don't want to hear that Flaco is a lousy QB - he played a great game. This Alex Smith guy, he seems like he is not the right guy for San Fran - no arm strength. In my opinion, they should think quickly about replacing that guy -- and bringing a SB home. Because otherwise, they are a seriously good team.
Pats vs Giants. OK. Obviously I want to win, just to stop the pain of the 2008 loss. But whatever, I am so surprised they are where they are, I will not lose any sleep over a loss.
Tough, tough loses for both the Ravens and 49ers. Those are games you lose sleep over. I feel for their teams, and fans. Ouch.

He stole my thunder. I removed the old ladies in mine because -I- got tired of looking at them.
Kudos to you, sir, but I prefer to say I was inspired by your example rather than "stole" the idea for myself. Think the entire board should join in the fun.

No, we don't.
Yes we do. Room had a higher completion percentage, higher QB rating, and better TD/INT ratio. Manning is in the Super Bowl because he has a terrific defense and OL. Room doesn't have that luxury.

Have you not watched their defense in the playoffs this year? They've been the best defense in the playoffs. They're allowing 13 ppg. The OL didn't play well yesterday, but the other 2 games they did.
