So, what is the draft, how does it work, why is it in place?
Is it a good or a bad thing. How do players that have been drafted do in their first seasons, and what happens to those players not get drafted?

He's from Scotland and is apparently very new to the NFL. Try to be helpful.

Over here the meaning of life is to simply finish one point, one goal or one trophy more than your closest rivals

Ok then it is in place to stop teams from just buying a super team to rule them all like the ring from Mt. Doom. Well that and the cap.
