I agree with Collinsworth that we will add to the secondary and we need a pass rusher. Since we will be facing teams like NY and Philly we better be able to protect our QB.
When you know you will face Pierre Paul who played great aginst us and add Osi, Tuck and a big push up the middle by Canty then you better have the line to handle it.
In terms of skill players I think Dallas is set we have some guys who can make big plays when they get their hands on the ball but unless we sure up some areas in the secondary and OL it is going to be difficult

Well clearly we don't have the most overall talent in the league, but we do have the most talented skilled position players. Upgrade the trenches and secondary and then we'll have the most talented team.

I think we're a ways away from being the most talented team in the league. We have good enough talent to win a SB at several positions but we're lacking too much at too many positions right now.

We need some ditch diggers and plumbers on this team.

And some real mean-arses with attitude.
This is the biggest farce in the league. Every year people, people that should know, say we have the most or amongst the most talented teams in the league.
We have awesome skill positions on offense (overall equal to the Giants for example), but I wonder how people on our defense would start for other good teams. Ware, Ratliff, Lee...Jenkins? Spencer? 3 sure out of 11.
Maybe o-line Smith starts everywhere and Free for half the teams? and how many of our 2nd stringers would even be on other rosters?

He must be focusing on the skill positions, because this team is woefully inadequate in the trenches.

Gosselin likes to use the term "blue-chip" to describe difference makers. The Cowboys seem to have as many as most teams. What they lack is the core players who should be the foundation of the team.

I don't agree. Blue chip is a term for any elite player or prospect, regardless of position. There are no bigger difference makers than the big uglies along the offensive and defensive lines. We lack players there.

amazing how many people refuse to understand that unless your lines are good not a whole lot else matters.

That is where the focus is and media and all these NFL pre game and talk shows do it on a reg basis. Any time they talk about a team the focus is all on the "Skilled Players" not on the guys who make the play happen which are the big boys up front.

Yep. It's kinda like putting a new paint job and tires on a car with a blown motor.

How is our skill positions the most talented? Witten ain't anymore. Our receivers aren't. We had a glimmer of hope at the RB position at best. We have two linebackers and only one of them could arguably be labeled the most talented. Our QB, IMO, is in the top 5.
We're acting like upgrading the lines and secondary is peanuts and in that same breath say we are the most talented. That's 3/4 of a football team. I don't get it.

^^^this. The FACT that JERRY does not understand this is WHY we are a mediocre outfit. He spends a worthwhile 1st round pick on an OL this past draft....and voila...he is the best OL prospect we have drafted since Larry Allen!
