When it comes to rehabilitating his injured right ankle, DeMarco Murray (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/DeMarco_Murray) says he's ahead of schedule. The Cowboys star rookie running back had his season ended on Dec. 11 after fracturing his ankle in a 37-34 loss to the visiting New York Giants (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/New_York_Giants).
"I've been working hard to strengthen my ankle," Murray said recently in an interview with FOXSports.com (http://multimedia.foxsports.com/m/video/51541719/sb-xlvi-demarco-murray.htm#q=demarco+murray). "I'm definitely ahead of schedule. I think I start running on [Feb. 6] actually, so I'm excited to get back there."

In the thread that just started over in the Fan Zone, I guarantee some will do their best to minimize the potential impact of such a loss. (already started) I maintain that it was one of the biggest losses of our season. He brought a level of stability to the offense that was immediately absent after he went down. I don't care how many yards the other RB(s) gained. In situational rushing, he kept the chains moving.

I hope he is the same. And by that report he should be. I'm already excited for next season, but am oh so glad this season is finally over.

He surely was the biggest unplanned surprise of 2011. With Murray, Jones and Tanner in the backfield at RB, along with Fiametta at FB, we really do have the potential to be powerhouse running team in 2012. All that's left is a legitimate C to hold the middle of the pocket intact.

This guy was arguably the best running back in the league this season.

And also if Fiammetta had stayed healthy.
IMO, he was the main difference maker for our offense this year.

Great news. He's got the rest of the offseason to continue strengthening it and restablishing flexibility in the ankle too.

If we make a couple of upgrades on the OL, we absolutely could. This will help Tony (take fewer hits and more effective play action) and our D (they'll be fresh). The new and improved running game will hopefully be the difference when we play in a blizzard in MetLife Stadium next year for the Super Bowl. :D Yeah I said it! Watching teams like the vagiants and Cards compete for Super Bowls in recent years has got to give any fan hope. A good draft and FA and we are right in the thick of it. We were actually right in the thick of it 'til the last week of this season too, but you'd never know it around here and think we were 4-12. C'mon free agency!

I listened to his interview and was glad to see him review his own season and talk about the things he needs to improve on to become a better player.
