Haley was '92s big "free agent" buy
The Cowboys are positioned just as they were in 1991, before their first Super Bowl run under Jimmy Johnson. That line pops up every time the Cowboys get close to the big game. I've been guilty of pushing the narrative. The organization has been guilty of believing it in recent off-seasons.

The thinking goes that the '91 team, having jumped from 7-9 to 11-5 and won its first playoff game since 1983, was just one secondary-rich draft from getting over the top, and that the Cowboys made good off the last installment of the Herschel Walker trade that April

Note, I pointed to this in my mock trade in draft section. Cowboys need to go get at least Mario Williams and Carl Nicks, then a very good safety or cornerback. Then 2-3 middle range players like Chris Myers or some center, etc.. then the draft you fill in rest but best player avialable so you dont have to reach.
