Ok so I am going on my second date with this girl this weekend. What is your opinion on going bowling for a third date? I figure the first two dates (first one was ice cream and the second will be lunch at this chinese place she really likes) are good for just talking and getting to know one another but something more active like bowling for a third date would be ok. Anyway, opinions?

I always had fun and the girl did too. I used to take girls and do "follow the leader bowling." Whatever you do, she has to do, then her turn and you do what she does. No regular bowling allowed. Between the legs, hiking the ball, granny, behind the back, left handed...the score doesn't matter, but the laughter does.

I hope this was not another perceived intrusion.

Not a thing wrong with bowling. It's great for a first date too.

I'd probably score better that way. :laugh1:

Hopefully both, more likely bowling though.

I love bowling, but I absolutely suck at it. If I get to a hundred, I'm doing good.

Hos' idea of follow-the-leader takes the pressure off the competition angle. So that if she sucks or you suck, neither of you will care.

Bowling is always fun. I don't think you can go wrong with that.

What a question. It depends on the girl!! You can either come out looking like a total loser for taking her bowling or have a GREAT time.

What if her entire family was bludgeoned to death with bowling pins and a bowling ball?

We must consider all possibilities when deciding on a 3rd date. It's crucial.

:laugh2: Thanks everyone for the advice. I've never really dated much so I'm new to this. I'm going to go with bowling for the third date, assuming of course the second one goes as well as the first.

Hell Yeah! If a girl can't have fun bowling, she's not worth keeping around.

Plus, you get an opportunity to Demonstrate your value :laugh2:

...(any always sunny fans around here?)

Bowling is great for a date. Just remember to make it fun, not a chance for you to show off or be competitive.

a cool date would be to take a cooking class together (a la Hitch, except without the allergic reaction)

Well I actually went to culinary school for almost 2 years before I transferred to Ohio State for history so I could probably teach the teacher some things :laugh2:

Maybe I could just cut out the middle man and teach her myself.:D

Ask her first. My wife wants no part of a bowling alley. :laugh2:

"Florida judge John Hurley ordered Joseph Bray to treat his wife Sonja to a bouquet of flowers, a nice dinner at a seafood restaurant, and a night at the bowling alley."

At the very least, offering to make her dinner instead of taking her out should probably go a very long way.

I think it is fine for a 3rd date. If you are a good bowler, I would not flaunt it, though. Don't bring you own bowling ball, bowling shoes, wrist straps, etc. As mentioned above this is supposed to be a fun date, not a competition.

My internet is really screwed up. I had no idea if it even posted once. When I tried to delete the second I got disconnected. It was strange.
