Per ESPN, Ron Jaworski will no longer be in the booth for "Monday Night Football." Just Tirico and Gruden now.

I don't like Jaws, but Gruden really grates on me. He is the biggest kiss-*** I've ever seen on a sports show. It's at it's absolute worst when he gets the guys on the bus to talk to them. I am forced to mute the TV and leave the room.

Can't really fault him. The guy is an Philadelphia Eagle through and through. I think he tried his best to be an objective analyst but he just could not help himself at times.

I don't watch MNF that much anymore as my son has hockey that night. When I did watch, Jaworski at least analyzed well.

ESPN has decided to go to a two man booth.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Monday-Night-Football-two-man-booth-Jon-Gruden-Mike-Tirico-021512
I remember a telecast earlier this year when Gruden was discussing the NFC East and both the Giants and Eagles were struggling. Tirico asks, "So who's going to win it, the Cowboys?"
Jaworski jumps in, "I hope not. I'll go with the Redskins before them."
Good riddance.

I like Jaws, too. Good Xs and Os guy. He was never as Iggles biased as some people like to believe. He's always given the Cowboys their due.

He was alright when breaking down the play. But Jaworski is an idiot. So bye!
Gruden's presence and charisma outshined Jaws more than anything.

Im just not a fan of his and it's not because he was an Eagles player.
He just isn't very entertaining.
I actually like Tirico but he doesn't give me that MNF vibe that I used to have.
I wish we could get Brad Nessler and Gruden.

This. Gruden has too much 'suck up' to him. Especially since even his friends acknowledge that he can be a pretty big jerk.
Jaws had pretty good insights on things, enough so that I could ignore his Eaglistic failings.... :)

I liked Jaworski. He had a little too high of an opinion of himself, but I thought he was good overall. Gruden, too.
It's Tirico I can't stand to listen to. I'd (almost) rather listen to Joe Buck.

The truth is MNF has been bad since the switch to ESPN for several reasons, even though I like Gruden.
The Sunday Night game on NBC is now the "game of the week" that I look forward to. They always have the better match ups too.

Good call on Tirico. He's actually very good at calling games but you just don't get that big game Monday Night vibe with him.

Ah yes, Ron Jaworski, the first Super bowl losing quarterback to ever have his top seeded team lose to a wildcard opponent.
This was near unthinkable in 1980 as the league was not one of parity.

I like Gruden, but not as an analyst. Until he stops loving every single player in the league he's never going to be a guy I want to hear providing color commentary.
But I could listen to Jaws break down QBs and the passing game all night long.

I thought Jaws and Gruden were a good combo.
I don't know what some people expect from a broadcast crew.
People like to bash Gruden for complementing everyone, or as a friend of mine put it "tugging on that ****", but I'd rather hear someone get excited during the game and be overly complementary than hear a guy bash the players on the field all day.
I thought Jaws was good too. They were actually excited to watch the game. There was one game where Jaws told Gruden to sit down because he was getting to amped up watching a play and stood up in the booth to get a better look.
What good does Tirico or any of the other play-by-play serve?
Is this supposed to be for people who are watching but need to have the play called out to them as it happens?
"Handoff right side".
I know they are supposed to complement each other but give me less play-by-play and more commentary on what made the play happened that was either out of view or obscured from the angle we were given.
Also, if you notice who tells the stories about how such and such player saved a heard of small elephants from a thunderstorm, it's the guys like Tirico because they don't have much else to say other than what happens.

Didn't mind him, doesn't bother me that hes gone either.

Gruden must have really retired from the sidelines.
I will still watch. I will listen to the local broadcasts if I don't like the announcers.
But as others have stated Jaws was good.
He will end up on another network, or just retire with an appearance here and there.

You sure that was Jaws and Gruden? I know what's his name did it to Dennis Miller in full camera view during one of our games I think.

Bring back Dennis Miller
"Did you see the arch on that pass, it was like the heavens opened up and dropped a pig from the sky, it then turned into a double speared like-ball and the catch was otherwise phenominal, considering that the wide receiver just came from the hospital watching his child exit the most holyest of places"

Jaws is a jerk but I felt he broke down plays well and I didn't really have any issue listening to him during the game for the most part.
I think partially Jaws may have left on his own because he's a former Alpha Dog QB that doesn't want to be second fiddle to Gruden who has gained a large fan following during his time in the booth and he signed an extension earlier in the year.
I did think sometime Jaws has some good points but would get caught off by Gruden mid-point/thought with some Gruden Madden type line and I got a sense that pissed Jaws off at times.
Gruden is ok, but the guy praises every dude as a "great football player" regardless of who it is or "I like this guy he's a helluva football player." Also, how many times can he drop the line "double penetration in the A gap" during a game?

No it was Gruden and Jaws.
It was too recent to have been someone else.
