Agree with many, some not at all.

Welker #1?

Kidding me?

Welker is just a slot receiver. He's a really, really good slot receiver, but a slot receiver nonetheless. Because of the monstrous stats he has posted the past five years, some football fans argue that he's on the level of Larry Fitzgerald and other wideouts of that ilk.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Because he's performed at a high level for half a decade, people think he's good. Well he's not.

Eli should be #1.

Agree with Hoof.. the Wes Welker comments are just another level of stupidity.

He nailed the Randy Moss bit though.

"Hey guys, im coming out of retirement.. soooo, hopefully some team will want to sign me this year so i don't have to make a last minute change of heart to stay retired."

:lmao:

Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys - Will he ever step up in a big game?

This is such a good question. Will he ever?

Unless the team can provide him with a O line and a Defense that does more than lay down when it matters then No because they will never be in a position where his performance will be key.

Same could be said of Dan Marino.

Winning is a team game.

I'd rather have Aikman than Marino.

Probably not.

Because no matter what happens if the Cowboys win the game suddenly 'wasn't a big game' afterwards.

They're only big, in regards to Romo, when Dallas loses.

He had a 140+ QB Rating in a game that should have won the Cowboys the NFC East against the Giants. But since he plays for a crappy team that lost the game in every other phase, that means he "didn't step up" to mouthbreathers.

Remember how Wes Welker was going to "exposed" once Randy Moss left the Patriots and took all the doubleteams and safety help over the top with him? What happened to those predictions?

Is there any doubt that most of the Wes Welker hate and skepticism comes from the way he looks?

White tight ends are hardly unique or novel.

If there's an overrated list -- D-Hall will be on it. My question is, at what point is someone continued to be overrated before people realize he isn't that good?

I am not saying Hall is good -- he isn't. My real question is, who says he's good anymore?

Welker is def overrated and so is their entire offense. The Pats offense averaged about 20 points against decent teams this past year.

Welker catches a ton of short passes, he only averages about 10yds per catch which is mediocre for a top receiver. When he went down Edelman replaced him fairly easy.

Defenses are not going to worry a lot about a receiver catching a bunch of short passes because that's what they would rather the offense do.

If a team tried to use Welker as starting outside WR in a base offense he'd be one of the worst WRs in the league.

As an Oiler fan I saw a ton of spare WRs in the run and shoot pile up huge reception numbers doing the same thing Welker did.

Ok? And Shaq would have been a terrible point guard.

They use Welker the way he needs to be used. A slot WR. It'd be idiotic to line him up outside and ask him to run a fly pattern. That's not what he does. He puts up #1 numbers from a slot position running mostly short routes. Who cares what is traditional? It works.

It'd be dumb to line Randy Moss up on the inside running flares and slants all day.
