If I was the GM this would be the offseason

RELEASES:

Kenyon Coleman
Kyle Kosier
Terrance Newman (if he wouldn't get his contract reduce to save the team money on this years cap)

SIGNS:

Mario Williams
Carl Nicks
Laron Landry or Dashon Goldson
Laurent Robinson

Draft

1st Round Scenario

If Cowboys could trade Romo and that first round to get griffin. Then do it...
Kirk Fitzpatrick/Dontari Poe/Devon Still/David Castro

2nd Round Scenario

Dontari Poe/Vontez Burfict

3rd Round

Lemichael James RB OREGON

If you were the GM what decision would you make as far as the offseason. Thoughts?

We aren't going to get a #1 high enough to get Griffin.

Trading romo is so dumb. If guy actually had decent line, he would be top 5 qb in league. The qb is far from problem. Burflict sucks! Might not even get drafted now. Did you see him at the combine yesterday? Pathetic. It's extremely unrealistic to sign nicks, Mario Williams, and top safety. We will get 1 at most top tier free agent. Rest value guys. Don't have cap room that Kansas city, Washington or Tampa bay has

1. Addressing the O-Line: Replace Costa at Center, Draft DeCastro (or next best OL), sign Veteran OG/C.

2. Upgrade DBs: Replace Newman at CB (hopefully with Carr) and Ball at S. Draft at least one DB in rounds 2-4.

3. Move Ratliff to DE and draft or sign a NT.

So that's at least one OL, one or more DBs, and maybe a NT via FA and one OL, one or more DBs, and a DL in the draft. Certainly within the realm of possibility.

trading away all the picks it would take for a shot at rg lll would make this offseason a disater....stay at 14 and pick up a good solid player...we have so many holes it should be hard to miss.

The OP lost all credibility with the suggestion to trade Romo. Wow!

3. Draft LB, DE, guard, CB, and center in the first four rounds.

I think you're going to be very disappointed this off season

Yeah trading one of the top QBs in the league is a great offseason. Trading 31TDs on a top offense will definitely fix the D.

Close but you do realize you have us drafting 5 players in the first four rounds?:D

But I'm with you. I'm hopeful we can address enough needs in FA to afford us the opportunity to trade down in round one.

If I've said this once, I've said it a dozen times. I want FA wins and plenty of cap dollars utilized well.

1) Target the players you want who are availible and or need to be resigned:
Spencer, Fiametta, Robinson, CB, OG and or OC, FS.

2) Sign them! Sell Sell Sell! Convince these players they need to be here and make it happen.
IF you like a player like Carr and you believe he is worth 42mil on a 6 yr deal, fine. Now the bidding takes his number to 48mil, PAY IT!
Don't lose out on a player you want, a player you believe will start and help us, just to fit some truely non-existent pay scale.

You're right! I'm hoping for a 4th as a compensatory pick for Bowen. :D

I'd also re-sign Elam for one more year and try and draft a developmental safety just in case Church falls on his butt.

easy question : win playoff games next year.

i could care less about winning an off-season championship.
it only counts if it happens on the field.
