The Panthers are reportedly "intrigued" by the abilities of North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins.

No way he could go 9 right? Anyway i'd love it considering they are one of the biggest threat to snatch Decastro from us.
Please take him, pushes somebody good down.

I could see them taking Janoris. The kid is a Top 10 talent, all it takes is some organization to feel comfortable enough to take him.
The team I'm worried about taking DeCastro are the Seahawks.

Not very much of a threat but it's also a numbers game -- the more spots get eaten up by guys like Jenkins and Tannehill, both of whom could go either above or below us, the more options the Cowboys will have when 14 rolls around. (I'm assuming here that we're not interested in Jenkins although that could be wrong of course.)
It's still a pretty good point. What we really need is for Arizona to express interest in guys other than DeCastro (and then, of course, that could just be a smokescreen).

Hopefully, Tannehill will do a Jake Locker or Ponder and go Top 10.

He's good enough to go that high.

+1. He was the best CB at the combine yesterday. Yes, even better than Clairborne. I had him ahead of Claiborne in terms of talent even before the combine.
You know what would suck though? If both Jenkins and DeCastro were gone before we pick.

Yea, everyone wants to talk about highly rated guys are but Jenkins produced better numbers guarding top SEC guys then even Patrick Peterson did. And then showed why he is able to stay with guys at the combine as he easily handled all the drills.
His pure grade deserves to be top 5 in this class. And then you start knocking him for being a big dummy off the field.
If he makes teams believe he can be a professional at the next level then he is definitely worth a top 10 pick. If he plays to his talent for 4 years he'll be looking at double digit millions per season as a free agent. Even Cromartie can pay child support with that much dough. Jenkins needs to "Just say no" though!

Did you say the same thing about Ponder last year.
Jenkins has top 5 talent in this draft. Panthers need defense bad and they play in a division that has some good WR's. It could happen.

Yeah, I don't get it. Is it funny in a 'that's what she said' way or is it funny in a no-duh/Yogi Berra way? Or some entirely different way that I'm not detecting...?

You can bet Rivera is going defense. That defense was about as good as Baylors last year! If they had a d they would have won a lot more games.

Any of the prospects can go before or after we pick...sarcasm is all. The guy he replied to was making a valid point mind you stating that these guys are ranked in an area close enough to be drafted before or after us, but since he chose to be so frank with his wording dude made a little joke...I'm sure it was all in good fun though.

I think every team in the NFL is, or at least should be, "intrigued" by him.
Maybe Carolina wants to trade down a few spots if someone like Coples is sitting there?

That's what I figured. But, of course, my point was that there are several people that really for all intents and purposes will not go below us.

There is always a coach or GM that thinks
"We can handle this guy. We can make it work."
How else did TO last all those years?

Yep, good point. Honestly, my feelings on Jenkins would be a little more mixed and open-minded if we weren't talking about the 14th pick in year when there seem to be about 15-20 blue chip players most of whom are without major character concerns.
