Cox for the dline. IF at all possible we should also sign Carr at CB....think of that.......FA: Grubbs, Carr, Robinson...........draft: Cox, Jones(center) who COULD be had LATER in the 2nd round which would net us another pick, and the last 5 rounds concentrate on safety, ILB, and best available olinemen and dlinemen.......thoughts? The 5 players listed would be starters and wouldn't ruin our cap like Nicks would. They would have instant impact: then concentrate on depth in rounds 3-7......just a thought I haven't seen so far on the board.

Grubbs is not going to be cheap either.I still have my doubts about interest in any FA guards,we might go after one of the top center FAs though.

but he'll be alot less than Nicks. I like a proven commodity like Grubbs, which would free us up to draft defensive line in the first round. Plus, free agency is a certainly deeper and better for oline than for dline.

We think a lot alike. I hope we get Grubbs, sine he'll be cheaper than Nicks. Then, go after Carr. Then, draft Cox #1, and a pass-rush specialist like Nick Perry, or Bruce Irvin, #2. Then, we go best available C/OG/ILB/DB the rest of the way.

I really like Grubbs too. What I like more than Grubbs is Grubbs AND DeCastro. I hope Jerry and co. don't think that signing an FA guard means that guard can't be an option in the draft.

Fixed.
Cox in Round 1
S McClellin in Round 2 isn't bad at all.
and then possibly a CB in Round 3, or Blake at Center.

I would be thrilled with that scenario.
Have a feeling it won't be Grubbs though, as someone mentioned more likely a guy like Wells.

Even though I prefer DeCastro in rd 1, if he's gone this is an excellent alternative

DeCastro is still my top pick as well at 14. But in case he's not there, I wouldn't be upset going DL.

I think I'd prefer Poe. Unlike most, I view his rawness as a plus. I like the upside and versatility.

The reality here is that we can not sign a Grubbs or Nix and draft a DeCastro as well. Grubbs and Nix have all the leverage. They are not likely to sign a short contract IMO. They are also not likely to sign a relatively inexpensive contract. That means long term, expensive contract. We have expensive contracts with both our tackles. If we drafted DeCastro and he is everything everybody hopes he is, he is going to get paid in in four years. That means that at some point, we are going to have to lose one or two of these guys and it's going to create cape problems if we spend big money on our OL at every position. That's just the reality.
