12 teams call Peyton Manning's reps
3/8/2012 6:24:13
On the same day Peyton Manning officially left the only professional home he's ever had, his representatives were contacted by 12 of the NFL's 32 clubs, multiple sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7659434/sources-peyton-manning-reps-contacted-12-teams).
Sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that both the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals were among the teams to reach out to Manning's representatives on Wednesday.
The Broncos also planned to inquire about the four-time MVP's availability, a source told Schefter earlier, and see if he has interest in coming to Denver.
Miami, Tennessee, Washington and the New York Jets have also been rumored as possible destinations; Manning's former offensive coordinator in Indianapolis, Tom Moore, worked for the Jets as a consultant last season.

I read an article regarding that. Bascially said he has a condo there and was looking to relax and not to read anything into it. And not that he started his interviewing process with Miami yet. (Though that's the team I think he ends up with)

Yeah, he has a place down there.

Maybe the warmer climate would help him

Ravens are an option, Raiders as well.
Depending on everything...the Saints.
Anything is possible.

I don't think so.
I guess you never know for sure though.

If I was the 49ers I would be jumping all over him. I would sign Manning and Wayne and they would probably be the team to beat next year.

More than 12? 12 is a huge number.

No chance in hell that the raiders get Manning. They have basically no cap room.

Good point, but as any other team can do. They can make room.
EDIT: They just made some.

I was just speaking of teams with potential interest.
I think Flacco is Sanchez on a different team.

they are still millions over. There is no way they will be able to do much this year.

This is what I think as well. Those two going there with Gore, Davis, and that O-line and of course that really good defense...that's a tough team to beat there.

My thoughts initially would be a AFC team, but they all seem to be outdoor cold weather teams, Dungy is saying no NFC East.
I look at the Cardinals as a good choice if they can beef up the OL in the draft, fairly stable team lately, good offensive system, warm weather and recent success with a older QB in Warner.
Miami just seems to have been a circus lately.

LOL at this blurb in the article

The Dallas Cowboys, however, aren't one of the 12 teams with interest in Manning. A high-ranking team source told ESPN's Ed Werder on Thursday that the team remains committed to Tony Romo and will not pursue, contact or demonstrate any interest in Manning.

Baltimore is the place that makes the most sense to me, but although you and I and realize that average passing production in spite of a great line, great backs, great defense, and serviceable receivers mean a below average QB, Baltimore doesn't. It's likely they are not interested.
I suspect it'll be a mid-tier AFC team not presently happy with their QB situation.
Miami
Kansas City
NYJ
maybe Denver (I don't think they know what they think about Tebow)
Tennessee
If I were Peyton, I'd avoid the AFC East, since it would just seem wrong for only him OR Brady to win a division any given year. But, OTOH, maybe he just likes Miami.

If you are Manning dont you pick the easiest Division to win? That means either the AFC West or NFC West. So Seattle, Az, KC, Denver. Maybe the Jets or Miami if they break out the big dough. But I think Denver would be a great place for him to go. That solves the Tebow problem for Elway.

.........Denver is pretty good and is a couple talented receivers and Manning away from contending really: they could sign Wayne and he could come with Manning plus draft a stud in the first round. That's intriguing but I don't know too much about their Ocoordinator and the whole Tebow dog and pony show wouldn't appeal to Peyton too much IMO.......now, the 49ers really is intriguing.IF Harbaugh could check his massive ego that would be scary: again, Peyton would need a couple WR's but with that defense.........he wouldn't have to do near as much as he ever did in INdy. Plus,Frisco is a cool town: I hate the whiners and Harbaugh but...........I think he'll consider it.
