I just read in the Oaklnad Tribune that the Raiders are talking to Barry Sanders about coming out of retirement. Could this be an in your face gesture to Emmitt by Barry? I don't know if he does come out of retirement but it would be odd.

He still belongs to the Lions as far as I know. I also heard him on Jim Rome's TV show about 6 months ago saying he won't come back. Records don't mean anything to him. On top of that he is 36. I doubt the record would be in any jeopardy.

He'll be injured before the season starts. He won't be breaking any record.

Since Sanders retired each year a rumor pops up about him coming out of retirement. I think if Sanders was going to do that it would have been a few years back.

Backing up Troy, how many carries would Barry be likely to get?
Seriously, I don't think at this stage in his life, that NFL football holds any allure for Sanders.

There will still be rumors of him coming back after he's 40. :D

Just so you know, here is the link to the story where they mention it. For the record, I don't think he will come out of retirement either. Just thought it was a stange blurb in the article.

If Barry did return, "which I dont think he will" he would only go to a Superbowl contender and Oakland is not a Contender.

are you kidding? with the upgrade they made on defense, ted washington and warren sapp on the dline, no one will be able to run.
collins will be perfect to run the raider offense and get porter the ball down field, IMO, they are more poised to make a run this year than the cowboys are.
