Funny thing is Tom Landry hated being called America's Team. He once said he felt that title gave the opponets a little more motivation when they faced the Cowboys.

Well Tex did not come up with the name. NFL films did but I will agree Tex never shyed away from it and made sure he used it to promote the Cowboys

Well you know Doomsday you'd figure people by now would just say ok who cares Dallas is Americas Team and move on, and yet there is still so much hate for that name and hate for Dallas people just can't let it go! and it's really sad when you think about it hate and jealousy just for a name people need to get a life

Your right Schram didn't make up the name NFL films did but Tex is the one who wanted it after he heard Dallas being mentioned as Americas Team, but Landry wanted nothing to do with the name at all

It does not bother me one way or the other and in ways Dallas is exactly what they are called America's team because bottom line love them or hate them people will tune in to watch them be it to cheer for them or to cheer against them, which is why the networks love it when the Cowboys are winning because they get some of the highest ratings out of any team in the NFL.

That is the differance between a coach and a GM. I would have to say both were the reason the Cowboys became as big of a marketing franchise as they have become over the many years

I just dropped by to vote the pole. Funny how the yanks are beating Dallas by three percentage points.

I viewed it more as a trivia question to see how smart ESPN.COM readers are.

Well, the results are in. Apparently, as of right now 67.6% ESPN readers are'nt the brightest lights in the harbor.

That poll reminds me of some of the other internet polls where companies ask people who know nothing about politics, who is responsible for some global political problem. Then use those stats as left wing political propaganda.

Anyway, back to discussing America's Team :D

Who is Americas Team?

This is a very stupid question. The answer is obvious. On any day, in any week, in any month, in any year.
