With these big free agents coming in at certain positions of need can we then scratch players at those positions off of our board for the 14th pick? I know everybody loves to preach BPA, but it just doesn't happen very often that early in the draft.

With Carr signed are Kirkpatrick and Jenkins eliminated? I think we will definitely take a CB fairly early still, but not at 14.

With Connor signed we can almost certainly eliminate Kuechly

With Brodney Poole signed we can eliminate Barron.

I have a feeling the 1st OG signed may have sealed the deal, but if Livings signs are we almost certainly eliminating DeCastro and Glenn?

That pretty much leaves DL/OLB, AKA pressure players. Ingram, Perry, Mercilus, Poe, Cox, Brockers, ext... Anybody think there's any truth to this?

I don't think signing Livings eliminates drafting DeCastro or Glenn, I think it just means the team won't feel forced to draft them if someone falls intheir laps.

I don't think you scratch anyone off your board, but you may move them down. You don't know when somebody you like may fall. always keep your options open.

Kirkpatrick and Jenkins almost assuredly slide down. The only way we draft them is if we get an amazing deal from someone to move into 14 and we have an extra pick in the first round, or if they are there at #45.

Didnt SDogo say he heard Kirkpatrick was off their board anyway?

Doubt they pick Kuechly at this point.

I think so too.Kirkpatrick and Decastro should still be in play @14 though.

The way it's looking to me, it looks more likely than a few days ago that we are going either DL or pass rusher/pressure player at 14.

Claiborne is the only CB we take at 14 if he somehow falls. DeCastro is excellent and would love to have him but i just don't see them going OG at 14. No need to reach for a Safety. ILB wont be picked there...

I know the insiders have said otherwise but i think we go either 3-4 OLB or DL. Best player available from either of those 2 positions.

The main reason they're being as active as they are, is so they can enter the draft with the mentality of being able to pick the best player on their board at that spot. Players may be off the board for various reasons, but it won't be because of what we've done in FA.

I agree. Our second-tier guard signings would say more about how uncomfortable we are with our current interior line depth. DeCastro would be drafted to start.

Remember, in camp last year, the team was trying to sell that a "slightly less obese" Montrae Holland was our answer, then shifted to heaping alarming amounts of praise on unproven babies Arkin, Nagy. Costa and Killer.

We need two guards and a center to emerge from as big a talent pool as possible.

I agree with this, I would draft DeCastro without thinking. This is just my opinion of what the FO is thinking

As bad as our interior OL was Livings and DeCastro would be a major upgrade.

I think Dallas will go BPA per need.
BPA per OG, C, DE, OLB, Safety is the way they will go unless a top 7 player on their board just falls to them.

Right now my top 6 at 14 goes.
DeCastro
Ingram
Cox
trade down
Glenn
Mercilus

I see a trade back and take an olineman. I dont see us taking Barron off our board yet. Pool is only signed for a one year deal. That doesn't say much for him

BPA at those positions doesn't neccessarily make them a #14 pick though. Isn't this how they got in trouble before by taking players for need instead of really BPA.
