NFL bounties: League finds no evidence Redskins had system similar to Saints

The NFL has closed its investigation without finding evidence that the Redskins had a bounty system for big hits under former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, a person familiar with the matter said Wednesday.

The league is leaving open the possibility of taking action in the future if it discovers new evidence, according to the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because no formal announcement has been made.

The league already had that $36 million cap hit on the skins, they are not going to add to it.

The key words there are "similar to Saints"...what those couple of Skins players described was not what the Saints were doing.

How many pages of emails did they find from the Saints investigation? That is hard evidence. I don't think anything remotely similar was found for other teams. I don't think any team that may do this in the future will be stupid enough to leave such a trail of evidence for anyone to find.

The only time the words "similar to the Saints" is mention is in the title. In the body, it specifically states:

Plus the league didn't talk to Bowen because he was apart of the media? I know the league makes folks sign confidentiality agreements. This was a no-brainer. I think the league just decided that they had done enough and called it a day.
