Green Bay - Whitney Mercilus didn't think. He acted on impulse.
Last summer, he noticed Illinois teammate DeJazz Woods squatting 405 pounds across the weight room. Woods crouched down and couldn't get up. Woods had a spotter but needed more help.
Mercilus sprinted over and threw his hand into the fray. "To catch something," he said.

Whitney Mercilus, 6'4", 261, and with explosive dynamics and instinctive knowledge of function off the edge...mixed with heart and dedication. Works for this fan.

Sounds like a good kid who wants to work as hard as possible to be as great as possible. Teams can never have too many guys like that.

He was on my short list before this article. He's now possibly at the top of that list. By the way... the upbringing and work ethic sound A LOT like Tyron's story. Seems like Garrett is drawn to that kind of perseverance.

This is the type of guy you wish nothing but the best, no matter which team he lands on.

I don't know. His left arm seems a little shorter then his right arm does.
