1. David DeCastro – G – Stanford, rJr., 6’5” 316 Lbs. – Simply the best offensive guard prospect in years. Wouldn’t surprise us to see teams with needs at right tackle and guard, select DeCastro over the 3rd best tackle prospect (Riley Reiff in our rankings) EVEN
2. Peter Konz – C – Wisconsin, rJr., 6’5” 314 Lbs. – Teams could look to plug Konz in immediately. He understands assignments and rarely makes mistakes. EVEN
3. Kevin Zeitler – G – Wisconsin, Sr., 6’4” 314 Lbs. – There’s something to be said about Wisconsin offensive linemen. The Badgers are normally groomed to be highly successful at the next level. It’s not only preparation for Konz and Zeitler, it’s also talent. +1
4. Amini Silatolu – G – Midwestern State, Sr., 6’4” 311 Lbs. – It was tough not to list Amini higher on this list. We love his mean streak. If you want to watch someone finish blocks, just put on his game film. The reason we didn’t place him higher than 4th, is the level of competition he played. +2

I am extremely interested in Silatolu (love the mean streak) if we could trade back to about pick #20. He's a quick riser and may have a higher ceiling than Castro/Zeitler. Decastro is by far the most polished now but in 2-3 yrs, Silatolu's natural ability take over once he learns the game.

Use the extra pick and consider packaging it with our third to end of 2nd for another potential pick that slides down.

Anyone feel DeCastro will be that much better than Silatolu through their career?

I don't think you can trade compensation picks.

Yes, I think he will be.

I was talking about packaging the pick we get for trading down + our 3rd pick to move back to end of 2nd if a player slides.

I like the DII kid because he's mean and probably not that well coached at that level so he's got quit a bit of upside. Whereas DeCastro maybe near his ceiling already. I also like the fact that Silatolu is so athletic that he played LT and if Free continues to struggle I can slide Silatolu out the RT and I think he can excel there as well. I am hoping he's got some Erik Williams/Allen (not that I dare to compare him to them).

I think you have to take DeCastro if he is there. If not, take Konz, with Zeitler and an alternative. Silatolu is a last resort.

Every one of those guys would be a major upgrade IMO.

At this point I think you have to take Decastro. I don't think there's more of a sure thing in the entire draft (that includes Luck and RGIII).

Decastro seems like the type that, with the right coaching, could actually push for the HOF barring something catastrophic.
