Apr 4 - Acquired: Thomas Everett from Steelers (1994); Birthdays: Jack Del Rio (LB: 1989-91, b. 1963), Tommie Robinson (assistant coach: 1998-99, b. 1963), O.J. Santiago (TE: 2000, b. 1974), Kurt Vollers (T: 2002-04, b. 1979)

Trivia: Del Rio and another head coach convinced the NFL to change a sideline policy (albeit only temporarily) -- what was the policy, who was the other coach, and what was the other coach's (indirect) relationship to the Cowboys?

The temporary change involved NFL head coaches being allowed to wear suits instead of being required to participate in the NFL clothing merchandise product placement scheme.

Dick Nolan's son (I forget his name) was the other coach. Dick Nolan played a bit and coached longer (DBs, I believe) for the Cowboys. He then went on to serve as head coach of the 49ers.

The above temporary rules change happened shortly after Dick Nolan's death, so his son could dress as his dad for a game (to honor his father). Del Rio dressed similarly on the opposite sideline.

Dick Nolan eventually returned to the Cowboys as an assistant coach after his time with the 49ers (and Saints), too. Resumed with Landry and stuck around for a few more seasons under the JJs.
