The NFL has yet to show any significant intention to investigate and punish other teams for using bounties, even though other teams apparently used bounties.
Specifically, other teams where former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams served as a coach, according to past admissions made by former Redskins defensive end Philip Daniels and former Bills safety Coy Wire.
49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers, who played for Williams in Washington, recently told KNBR that players were paid to hit players hard enough to put them out of a game.
Rogers said it started as a pool of money consisting of fines imposed by Williams for players being late to meetings or missing meetings, along with money kicked in by players. Payments would be made for big plays, like interceptions.
At some point, the program expanded.Read the rest of the article via the link posted above.

None of the coaching staff, or GM for that matter, from Gregg Williams' tenure is still there. I have no problem believing Joe Gibbs when he says he was not aware of any bounty system. As soon as Williams left, Greg Blache put a stop to the "pay for performance" system because he never liked it. (A Redskins' Coach ended the program years ago.) Most importantly, the Redskins have not been deceiving the NFL and covering it up while continuing the system for more than 3 years after being told repeatedly to put an end to it. I doubt anything happens to the Redskins as the situation is completely different. Even if Goodell feels the need to punish the Redskins in some way, I seriously doubt it will be anything near what the Saints got.

Mara will fine them 46 million in cap space and take away all the draft picks for the next two years.
He will also fine the Cowboys because they play the Redskins.

Yeah but they have the same owner ... Maybe the skin's will be punished as salary cap violators....again.

Yeah, but that wouldn't necessarily be punishing them if they suspended Snyder lol

Gregg Williams bounty gate: being a descendant of Buddy Ryan, I'm really not surprised:

Think Goodall will give the skins picks for the body bag game? How about the Cowboys getting picks for the bounty that was put on Aikmen?
As long as we are digging up history, where do we stop?
I also wonder if the Ryan brothers are running something similar... Their dad was a real CLASS act.
Apple can't fall too far from the tree.

Yep I think his indefinite suspension will become permanent. After hearing that audio I'm pretty shocked how dirty this guy is. I'm sure he's not the only one out there but man he is one dirty SOB.

Ya I don't think so either. They flew under the radar if and when they did this under Williams. No investigation or anything. It'll be hard to punish them for it.

It's been rumoured that Rex Ryan had a bounty program with the Ravens, that carried over into the new coaching regime, and still existed up until a couple of years ago.
It should be interesting to see if Goodall penalizes one of his golden children:
http://baltimoreravenszone.com/ravens-add-defense-rumors-bounty-program/
The Ravens defense was also the subject of rumors this week that they were yet another team that had a bounty program. ESPN reported that the Ravens had placed bounties on Pittsburgh Steelers Hines Ward and Rashard Mendenhall. Given the rivalry between the Steelers and the Ravens, that should come as no surprise. One also has to consider the fact that NY Jets head coach Rex Ryan was once the Ravens defensive coordinator. Rex’s father Buddy Ryan was notorious for running bounty programs when he was head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1980’s. It would stand to reason that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Be careful what you wish for. The Cowboys are one team mentioned when bounties are brought up - players admitting they participated in bounty systems in the 90's.
Thing is, how far back do you go? This type of stuff used to be part of the game - the NFL knew about Buddy Ryans bounty system and allowed it, in the 90's.
Really, Goodall can only penalize the teams that were warned about it (recently lol), and did nothing about it. The Redskins were never warned about it.

Apparently you didn't see the Dallas Defense play last season under Ryan. They tackle gently.:D
Witten even tried on offense to knock out a cheerleader with no success. But he did get her twitter account shut down!

Well, I hear Rex Ryan had a bounty on Mark Sanchaz. Bounties can be counter-productive. :D

Sounds like the Skins paid Witten to go after the cheerleaders. I remember those same cheerleaders getting in the way of the kickers during warmups:

Interesting point. Perhaps Gano is involved in this as well. Never trusted that guy since he shanked that extra point against Tampa - that would have send us into overtime.
Skins fans can only hope that Gano is suspended indefinitely.

You're right. Not a thing wrong with that, though, IMHO. I actually admire Tim Tebow's strength of faith, even though some think that TT makes too public of an expression of it. Opinions vary.

Giants players had said after their win over San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game that they had targeted Kyle Williams as someone who might fumble on big hits because of his history of concussions.
They should be punished too.

I don't mind Tebow, I just cringe when I listen to his interviews.
If he's happy go lucky 24/7 good for him, but human beings do have other emotions for a reason. Personally, I'd get bored if I were happy 100% of the time, but to each their own. His interviews are worse than Mcnabb's btw.
