I take the bait. I think Barron could be had at #22. You also put yourself in excellent position to take a first round talent early in the 2nd.
Never know, they might get antsy for Tannenhill.

Guess it depends on who's off the board so far. But it seems like a hard deal to pass up.

all of them wont be available..but one of them shouldGlenn's off the board per above. I think you have 5 elite players left at 14, which leaves you likely short at 22. There are definitely some guys that will be available that are worth the 22 spot, but I think have a sort of cliff around 18-20. The question is whether that extra 2nd rounder is worth the drop off. That's a tough one, but I think you'd probably have to take it.

too easy. Take the picks.
Lots of very good players that can help us. You can pick up three very good DL/OLB/OG/DB that can contribute immediately for us.

I'd take that trade but be prepared to move up from 22 if all the top 4-5 guy left look like they won't fall to us

I'd take Cox.
The quality of DL will be severely lesser at 22.
The quality at interior OL will just be lesser.
If Cox were off the board I'd have traded down. If I am targeting an OG/OC/S I move down. Getting Konz instead of DeCastro doesn't hurt my feelings at all. Konz is a slightly lesser player but plays the greater position of need.
To me Cox is 100% a walk in starter. He is every bit as good a prospect as DeCastro at a much harder spot to fill. I doubt he is around because he is probably a top 10 player.
Of the possibilities at 14 the 3 who would make it tough to trade down for me are Coples, Ingram and Cox.

I'm with you-defensive line has been completely neglected for about a half dozen years. Time to spend a high pick on some new blood.

The Cowboys are very likely thinking like us... unfortunately so are 30 other teams.
I am afraid we'll have to trade back and get the 2nd tier of defensive players or a top tier non-premium position such as OG or S.

Aren't all these DL/OLB's 2nd or 3rd tier anyways.
They are in my book.
Unless I'm missing a Ngata, Wilfork, Ware, Seymour somewhere.

You take it and run and take BPA at 22. We should still be able to land a difference maker there.

I agree this years draft is different from the last ten years the second and third rd still has lots of low hanging fruit.

I'd take Fletcher Cox.
The teams behind us are going to take corners, defensive line, pass rush, Barron and likely DeCastro. Really only Chicago might take an offensive tackle or receiver, which would not interest us and they could certainly draft Upshaw, Mercilus or Perry. No wide receivers are likely to go off of the board.
Unless I'm drafting a corner, 22 looks like a dead spot. If corner was my plan going in, I take the deal because I'll bet that only the Bengals will take one.

I would too, however I just don't see Tannehill making it to 14. Cleveland may take him at 4. It would be a colassal mistake, but they may do it. If they don't, Miami will almost certainly take him at 8. If by some slim chance they don't, there's a pretty good chance Kansas City takes him at 11.
And if the sun, moon and stars line up perfectly for him to make it past KC, I see Arizona taking that deal at 13.

there will be a very good Player @ 22 like Konz, Barron or etc. and to turn around and have picks @ 37 and 45 I like the fact I could land 3 new Starters in the first two rounds. I have to make the Trade !!!

I agree w/ everything you said. Also, Jacksonville's sitting pretty at 7. I can see a bunch of QB desperate teams overpaying for their pick to leap frog Miami.
If Tannehill somehow slips to our pick and the Browns come knocking, I take the deal in a heartbeat. I think they'll be talent available at 22, including Coples who's stock's falling as I'm typing this.

I think Kansas City is that team. I think they leave the draft with either Tannehill or Weeden.
I think they will be a cheap trade up team for Cox if he makes it to 11 and Tannehill is gone. If Poe is on the board at 11, he is very likely to be there at 14.

Don't think there would be any way or reason that Cleveland would do that. Makes no sense from their end.
That being said, if we are going to pass on DeCastro and Cox, I wouldn't mind a draft that was:
22 - Barron
37 - Konz
45 - Silatolu
I'd take that. 3 starters in the first 45 picks.

My sentiments exactly. I won't be disappointed if we get decastro, but will be livid if we grab Barron are 14

Too far to drop. Protect Romo with DeCastro or the other top OG. If Romo goes down again it won't make any difference who you've got on the defensive line. Protect Romo.

If for real, Dallas got the solid first round and top of second round pick...that would be what I do. Otherwise, with the top guard, top defenseive tackle, and top safety there...I would take DeCastro first, Cox second, and Barron next. But you said they were available...so DeCastro.

Barron, Konz, Silatolu or whatever his name is......that's exactly what this team needs.
Secondary sucks especially at S position and interior OL is garbage.
