Hypothetically speaking, if we had the 3rd overall pick, who would you take?
I would love to have Kalil but we have too much money invested in Doug and Tyron so give me Claiborne.

So you would be paying a guard as a tackle and have who at LT?

I'm not worried about who is making what..I'm doing what's best for the team..I'll let smith and Kalil battle it out..Kalil is too good to pass up..our oline would be insane

If Minny can not get a boatload of picks for the #3 spot I am not sure if the Cowboys could. Although I guess they could ask for less.
However if you could not get the picks. You would take the BPA. Knowing Jerry he would not take Kalil. So I would imagine it would come down to Claiborne or Richardson.

trade down even at a discount.
this draft isn't that top heavy... but it is very deep.
stuck at 3?
give me Fletcher Cox.

Free can't play guard. I would take Blackmon, Clairborne, or Ingram.

If Dallas had #3 I would of hoped they would of traded with the Rams or Colts a while back.

You are correct.
We keep hearing that we can always kick Free inside to guard. I guess some people think that OG is easier to play.....or that any failed OT has more skills than any OG.
I'm not sure why.
Anyway, we did try to "kick" Free inside. I can remember a few years ago that we were very short at OG. We tried several players there. Free was one of them....he failed. Nate Newton talked about how he didn't anchor well or something.
Anyway, nice post. Good to see someone realize that you simply can't kick any OT inside to OG.

If Claiborne is as good as they say, i take him at #3.

Possibly Claiborne, Richardson, Kalil, or Cox.
Those, IMO, are the best players that would be available.
Claiborne is the best CB in the draft. He would certainly help us.
Even though we have Murray and Felix, it's hard to pass up on a player as good as Richardson.
Same thing with Kalil. Free would be an expensive back up, but it would be hard to pass up on someone as good as Kalil.

You mean up?
Do you have a preference when it comes to Luck and Griffin?

Some of you would take a receiver in the 1st round every year if you were GM.
I'd go Claiborne.

It would be a luxury but not a necessity. How would you decide who plays LT?

I assume you mean that we HAVE to pick #3.
Otherwise, a trade back is a must.
Sure would be nice to be in that situation.
I've always liked Claiborne though.

lol
That is thread material. Or maybe a poll?
Some options
1) Take Luck
2) Take RG3
3) Take the Redskins or Colts to the cleaners
etc
Maybe you should start a poll on that one.

yes, I prefer Luck but they are so close I would of been happy as a pig in mud to come away with either of them.

I'd take Claiborne if stuck at #3. I'd rather trade down to about 6-8 and take Cox and net an extra #2 and #1 in 2013 though.

Yea cuz that would open up a whole set of questions...
If Cowboys pick Luck or RG3 do they sit? How long? When they do start, what becomes of Tony?

I'd draft Luck and let him sit behind Romo for this year. Then re-evaluate it next offseason.

Right. If we couldn't trade for teams on the Tannehill hook. Go with Cox most versatile D-Lineman

That's a tough call because of Petersons return ability but as a pure corner I like Claiborne better.

Yes. Claiborne is considered the better cover guy. But good pt on the return skills

Honestly, I'd take DeCastro. I am on board saying he will end up being the best player in this draft and I am not going to move from that.

I'd love to take decastro and then trade up if Barron fell to around 20. I doubt it because the Jets are hurting for a safety too but you never know.
