We will officially turn the clock and be under 4 days till the start of the Draft and we still have no idea who the pick will be or how it will happen. Times sure are different at the Ranch.

Even though I hate it as a fan, it is probably a good thing that we have no clue who they are targeting in any concrete way.

I think we have a very good idea of who we want. Just don't know if the other teams will participate.

I don't know if we have ever known with 100% accuracy.........well let me take that back. Everyone and their mother knew Parcells was going to take Carpenter.

It's just I believe we have had a better ball park idea this time of year in the past.

Last year it was pretty much narrowed down to Smith and Watt with a chance of a trade up to get Peterson. This year it could be 8 different players.

No. Because even in the unlikely event you know who the team covets, you don't know that he'll be there. No matter where he's projected. You always get the whoa! picks in the draft that shake up the order.

I joined in 2006, don't really remember that draft as far as this place is concerned. I know exactly where I was at 2 weeks prior to the draft because me telling the Dentist as he put me under that Bobby Carpenter was going to be the pick was the last thing I remember before I woke up. lol

SDogo - not sure you've got the time, but one more of those "Around The League" threads would be awesome to see who's coveted between about 7-12 in the draft.

i gotta believe its going to be one of these three in this order...Cox, Barron, or DeCastro. now unless something weird happens and someone drops to us like for example Tannehill or Richardson lands at our spot. that changes everything then maybe a trade down could happen.

Trade down if it's Tannehill. Make the pick if it's Richardson.

Bye bye, Felix. Move over, DeMarco.

Tuesday and Wednesday likely, tomorrow I'll be traveling. Was going to try and put something out today but I had to much stuff to get done around the house before I leave tomorrow morning.

It's in stark contrast to last year. Around this time last April, most of us had accepted Smith as the likely pick. This year? There's 5-6 guys who I feel the consensus is split among.

Well, with Al Davis no longer picking we almost guarantee as little less chaos.

Is it the Ranch or the draft in general since the Barrons, Brockers, Poes, and Tannehills of this draft can fall within a fairly wide range of selections?

I think it's a combo of both. This team was an open book back in the Phillips years and Parcell's tenure was not a whole lot better. Things are much tighter then they used to be.

Also like you said, this draft is very fluid right now.

I don't think it's ever been difficult to figure out who they were targeting. This is the first year where I can remember the guys we are targeting may not slide to our spot (Barron, DC).

Exactly, we had at least a more concrete understanding of the players involved.

We think it may be Barron due to projection, obvious need but we really do not know what they are going to do this year!

People wanted Lawson but everyone knew Carpenter was the pick.

For an old troll BP is a softie for his former ties. After signing a bunch of his former players who mostly couldn't play anymore we knew he was going with his ex=players and former ballboy.

We didn't know he was going to become Barbie become afraid to tackle....

I think the Dallas correspondent on NFL Network called it tonight.

#14. Barron top choice.
#14. Brockers other guy we're targeting.

Neither guy there, we start moving down to focus on OL with DeCastro or Kunz, neither of whom we value at 14.

There has to be something everyone is missing because there are a number of teams inside the top 15 and even outside who would trade up for him. He very well could be a top 15 pick and it might not even be Dallas.

That's what I have been saying but people don't want to hear Brockers name.

I think they fail to understand the impact a powerful, huge man who draws double teams and pushes his man into the backfield has on making the rest of the defenders more productive. They count his tackles and sacks! Don't see him chasing guys around the field like a 265 lb DE, and they don't see anything else.

Maybe Barron will be there so everyone can be happy...for a little while.

Same here. I could see us staying put or trading down or maybe even trading up. Our first pick (wherever it winds up being) could be any of the following as far as I'm concerned:

Cox
DeCastro
Barron
Brockers
Upshaw
Ingram
Poe
Mercilus
McClellin
Konz
Zeitler
Hightower
Gilmore
