View Full Version : When BP Retires
BlindSeer

When BP retires next season or the following does anyone have an idea who may be the next coach?
Any college coachs stand out in your minds?
Who would you like to see that is a realistic option (this excludes Jimmy)?
and please don't say Pete Caroll (sp) he stunk in the NFL before and will again if he returns.
I don't know of anyone off the top of my head that really intrigues me and I really hope we don't promote Zimmer....

Jerry talked Sean Payton and Mike Zimmer into staying last year for a reason.
It'll be one of them, IMO.

Not that I propose Pete Carroll here, but because he stunk before in the NFL does not mean he would again. The NFL's top head coach was basically a disaster in his first stint.

I'm fine with who we get as long as Mr. Ego isn't making the decision.
No, but that'll probably happen two years from now. That's like asking everyone what their favorite show will be at that time.

Please I hope your joking Danny couldn't keep his job in the AFL how do you think he would fair in the NFL?????
As for coaches go the only college coach I like now is UF's Meyer now that Saban has gone to Miami.
Mike Holmgren may be available he would be a good pick and there is Dave Wandstat (I wouldn't hire him)
Good question its a hard decision and I don't envy JJ on having to make it.....I agree NOT Zimmer

I wonder what this says for Eagles Boards???? its one of two things
1. either the Eagles boards really suck. OR
2. He's been kicked off every Eagles Board.

Stoops or Sean Payton. As for me I would take Kirk Ferentz of Iowa over ANYBODY. Pro experience, coached with Belichickin, and one hell of a coach at Iowa. But in the end its Jerrys call and my bet is he goes with SEAN PAYTON.

But honestly I think BP will shock us all and sign a 1-2 yr extension. 2003 and all that went with it put us behind in the BP restoration project. Might be wishful thinking, but I say why not?

if we change head coaches, we change philosophies and all that. It'll probably be Payton. There was a reason the Raiders wanted him, and Nebraska too. Parcells assisstants are usually pretty damn good HC's.

Whats wrong with Jack???????
He hasnt done tooo bad in Jax (14-18), even if they are going to be closing alot of the seating so they can appear to sell out more for TV
Easy... he got a ring here... then exited and openly criticized the organization...
When he was with the Chiefs... he was all about the union... when a coach and former older Chief player was crossing the picket line he body-slammed him... donning his blonde mullet and all...
I remember seeing the pics in SI... some can point out the player... he was 50ish... Jack was early 20ish...
I had thought it was Willie Lanier... but several members at the old board pointed out that Willie Lanier woulda kicked his arse even in his 50's...
Jack del Rio is a punk... I will go full MI if he ever dons our reigns...

I'm pretty sure it won't be Payton or Zimmer. Jerry already learned from his previous lesson with Campo. You don't hire the previous regime's assistants. Unless Bill retires on a strong note and the team is in good shape, Jerry will seek out the next Jimmy Johnson. I think Jerry is willing to hire a college coach if he is the right coach or he will hire a rising assistant on a successful NFL team like the Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson.

I won't make fun of this part of my post, because you really should have known what the word "Purview" means ...
pur·view [ púr vy (http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/Pronounce.aspx?search=purview) ] (plural pur·views)noun1. scope or range: the scope or range of something, for example, the Cowboy Zone message board policy's (rules) jurisdiction or somebody’s knowledge
2. Rules main enacting part of written legislation: the main body of a written piece of legislation that follows the introductory section or preamble and contains the clauses that state what the rules require, for example the Cowboy Zone message board policy's (rules)
I wasn't going to even bother to entertain your other unrealistic comments...
comment #1 - I've been a member of the Eagles message board since November 2001; still in good standing (different signature name -- visit there if your have the ...nerve).
comment #2 - I've never been kicked off of any Eagles-related MB or other Eagles-affiliated boards.
Primarily because I respect those who respect me. I've never liked to throw insults back and forth at posters -- that's too immature and it accomplishes nothing. Will I take an innocent shot at those who don't deserve respect? Hell yeah!
As such, go wirte the word purview 100 times on a piece of paper:o

Ok first of all why should I know what the hell Purview means why not just say scope or range? its like all the news articles that say "purported' what in the world ever happened to supposed (sp) or alleged?
Secondly you used it wrong
within the purview and Policy contained herein.
shouldn't it be "within the purview of the policy"? Since Purview means scope or range of something?
Lastly you never answered my first reason you were here in the first place and thats

I'm not nice or soft. My name is intentional -- Phoenix-Talon. The Phoenix is a Bird of paradise; rebirth from the ashes of fire. From my perspective, I've tranformed/matured from the fire breathing dragon to a gentler form of Eagles fan. I won't try to match insults with anyone, one (spoken in third party) can be a fool all by themselves.
Listen, I enjoy it here, the Eagles Board, and many other boards. I learn from visiting other boards. I like it here, and I Believe most C'boyz members and I have a "Like to hate Him" or "Hate to Like him" feeling about me. So, since I'm a senior member here, get over it!;)
Roger the Dodger Staubach would be my choice with Charlie Waters as the "d" cord.

Do you really have a relative that's an Eagle Fan -- you probably don't. But do you remember when you first became a moderator, you responded back to someone by saying that ..."BTW, my________ is an Eagle fan." That was a smooth response; I only regret I can't recall the exact words.
Anyway, that reply still stands out as one of the best comebacks I've seen on this board.

Jerry will go after Mike Holmegram if he looks outside of Dallas, If he stays in house it will be Payton (sp), and If he looks at college coachs it will be Stoops.
I don't think even BP knows when he will retire.

What happened was, my "promotion to Moderator" thread was hijacked and turned into a total disaster...LTN posted that maybe I wanted to send the thread to my mom..to which I replied, "I already did, she returned it...she's an Eagle's fan"
