ESPN's Todd Archer reports that there's a "good chance" LSU DT Michael Brockers will be the Cowboys' pick at No. 14.
In beat reporter Todd Archer's story, he goes on to explain that Brockers would do nothing to improve Dallas' pass rush while perhaps hinting that this pick could spell the end of Marcus Spears' Cowboys tenure. Brockers would be a "five technique" defensive end in Dallas' 3-4. He was a D-Tackle at LSU. Apr 26 - 4:22 PM

So Archer believes Brockers will do nothing to improve the pass rush. Why isn't he the one making the decisions in Big D? Archer! Go tell Jerry this news right away!

It really would be a hard pick to get excited about.

The only thing worse for me is a cornerback in the 1st round.

That is a hell of alot different than "Brockers is the pick".

Again, I tried to correct it. the Twitter link to it said he would be pick and then when I opened and pasted link it was too late. Right now it is just a people throwing crap to see what sticks anyways.

I think you could argue that they expect he will command double teams fairly soon--which will free up Rat and whoever is playing at OLB opposite Dware.

Yeah, I guess Leon Lett did nothing to improve Dallas' pass rush in the 90s either since he never had more than 4 sacks. Personally I would prefer Poe since he can play either NT or DE with out of this world physical skills, but as long as Brockers can be the dominator/disrupter that it appears they think he can I'm for it over the other choices.

Dont you know the only way to improve the pass RUSH is to sack the QB, that's why it's called the pass SACK....oh....maybe not.

what is your analysis on brockers sdogo? I don't think brockers is another spears I think spears is his floor but in the prime albert Haynesworth is his ceiling(with out the attitude and foot stomping on head).

The thing people fail to realize is brockers arms are lonnnnnggggg. I think get him in tip top shape and work on some passrushing moves He could suprise us with a 6 sack season and alot of collapsing/pushing the pocket which would help others get sacks.

Problem with that is, if we got Barron we can still get a DE in round 2 cause the class is relatively deep.

If Brockers is first on the list, we won't get a starting safety in this draft and we will have to go with the JAG that is Pool.

The '95 Cowboys won a Super Bowl with Larry Brown at corner, but a lot more up front.

Woodson and Brock Marion.

We don't even have a Brock Marion on this team, much less a Woodson right now.

Its really about supply and demand, right now the supply is real low at safety with high demand, while at 3-4 DE the supply is greater and the demand is also lower for a guy with no shown pass rush ability yet.

Sanders>Carr/Marion>Sensabaugh/Woodson>Poole/....Jenkins>Brown

This isn't changing much with Barron. It would help, although...as would a corner in two.

I'm good with almost all of the defenders not named Kirkpatrick or Gilmore, or Fleener, or Reiff.

I do not want another 1st rd corner, and we do not need a OT in the 1st.

I would rather have a pass rusher over anything, but want something in the front 7. Brockers is just a baby, so how can anybody judge him yet? I remember everybody last year worried if Tyron could add strength and weight, and that he had a lot of upside, but wasn't better them the other OT's right now. How did that work out?

I'm even good with Hightower at 14. I think he's going to be a stud, and leader for anybody that takes him.

Well that team was stacked in alot of areas, hard to compare them to us right now. Even Marion made 3 Pro-Bowls, not like we are going to see Sensy there anytime soon, and you putting Woodson and Poole in the same area should be illegal. ;)

Barron would catch us up on that curve though, I just think people really underestimate how bad this secondary really was last year.

I'm not as worried about getting pressure on the QB with Ryan at DC and all his creative blitzes, but he does need protection on the backend that we haven't given him yet.

I think Brock came around later. At first they had Ray Horton, Thomas Everett, James Washington which all came from plan b free agency or waivers.

Brock was here from 93-97 (so he was here in 95), 3 time Probowler and an All Pro once, and thats not even mentioning Woodson.

.....does philly trade up a couple spots with Arizona to draft Brockers? I doubt it, BUT it was reported as a possiblity a few days ago. PLUS, it would be a double whammy: they get their DT AND they screw US.
