Lets say we don't move up from #81. How many of you would be happy with a combination of Orson Charles and Phil Blake with our 3rd and first 4th?

I don't want Orson Charles. A DUI coming into the drafting process speaks of poor decision-making, at the least. He didn't exactly wow anyone at the combine or at his pro day, and he's not really that good of a blocker.

Blake is a guy I'll take, and gladly, if we take him.

Don't be fooled by bad combine numbers. Aaron Hernandez wasn't elite at the Combine. The guy was a stud for Georgia and play maker. He would be a steal at #81.

With no second I'm leaning towards OL and DL help the next 2 picks.

DL. I like Wolfe but I'm not sure he or Winn are there at #81. Maybe Josh Chapman as a NT? Seems like he could play a lot of snaps for Dallas early in his career.

It's not the combine that makes me not want him...it's the DUI. Off-the-field issues mean immediate elimination from my board, in most cases. I'll risk losing a talented player to prevent having knuckleheads in the locker room.

I can live with one DUI. He made a mistake and by all accounts, he is a good kid who was loved by his teammates and was a team captain.

I said in most cases. I'm sure the Cowboys have checked into his background thoroughly, so if they take him, I'll be comfortable with it. But I don't have that luxury, so he's off my board.

But don't worry...it's not like the Cowboys are using my board anyway, so if you really want him, it's still possible. :)

Neither.

Prefer Wolfe, Chapman. or Ta'Amu, Broyles

I like Blake but i'll pass on Charles. I'd rather have Markelle Martin, David Molk and or Alemeda Ta'mu.

Yeah been saying this all morning, although I will say if they think one of those safeties can play (pipedream I know), I would take one of them in a heartbeat.

I don't think we will be able to get any more than a rotational player on the defensive line where we pick. I expect Winn, Wolfe, Martin, Thompson etc. to be gone. We might get a Guyton but I'd rather take the better player on the board which will likely be a tight end, guard or receiver. We obviously should not take a corner. Chapman is probably a redshirt guy given the timing of his injury, but he would be the one guy who might be at 81.

What about Hicks in round 4?

Since we love injured players, you might want to add Crick to that list. I figure one of them could fall to our 3rd pick, but definitely not our fourth.

Really though, we have no idea what trades will happen or who will be there so its really a shot in the dark. At our 3rd round pick, it will probably end up being the BPA with an eye still on need and the later in the draft we go it will be BPA only.

Which players on OL and DL would you like to see us land with the next 2 picks (realistically)?

I'm fine with that. In the 3rd there will be good players from big colleges who may come in and be a starter for you. Or there are the guys with crazy physical traits like a Brandon Brooks. This is where Green Bay cleans up every year. They just pick good players and don't pick their needs in the 3rd and 4th. We did that last year with Murray.

The really good dt's left after 14, and the next tier will be gone by 40 or 50. I don't wan't to chase for a guy that might be as good as a Coleman type player.

I'm gonna blow my lid, if they pick Blake. He'll be 30 before he sees a second contract.

Me too. Getting guys who could, presumably, come in and make significant contributions at this point in the draft would be excellent.

Get Blake. He can start day one, IMO.
