Lamar Miller | RB | Miami
Explosive! Sub 4.4 time.
Can Return Kicks, Good size, Needs a year to mature which is what we can give him before he takes over for Felix next year.

Over Tanner? I like what I saw from him. Bigger needs than RB.

He'd be a better fit under a Deadskins or Texan's system. However, so would DeMarco.
The one thing I can tell you is this: give this guy a crease and he's gone. The other thing I can tell you is that he can't pass protect worth a s........ if you know what I mean.

That would be a heckuva pickup. Then if we could get Blake at the end of round 4, Carder in 5, Hanna in 6, and Witt in 7, that would be a good draft.

he has a shoulder injury and did extremely poorly at the chalkboard at the combine
There are still some nice players there but I still think Defense. OTOH he is a nice replacement for Felix.

Had him as a 4th in my first mock... a long while back. He is FAST, and should be a dynamite return specialist while he learns the ropes as the change-of-pace back. I can't imagine taking a guy like this if we didn't work him out though.

Why dump Tanner for another rb, who won't even get on the field behind Murray and Felix? Give Tanner another shot this year and see what he has. We can get a rb next year.

I'd rather ride it out and pick up a UDFA to contend with Tanner. We've got other spots where the choice might not be as tough whether to keep the draft pick or the incumbent.

With the rate Murray and Felix get injured, I think a RB would absolutely see the field. Especially if you can use them as a return man.

T.Y. Hilton can also return kicks, and can excell in the slot, a current need. I hope RB is not the pick, especially in the 4th.

T Y Hilton gone.

Since it looks like Felix is gonna be here this year, I'd wait on taking a RB that high, hopefully OLine, DLine, or OLB
T Y Hilton gone.
I knew that. *slinks off w/tail tucked*

I wouldn't mind Miller.. guy is explosive. Any guy as explosive as that that you can get in the 4th round, you take no matter what position or needs you have, imo.
SDogo, any idea why Boykin and Crick are falling this far? I thought Boykin would be gone in the second round with his athleticism.

Dallas did not get enough production out of their wide receivers last year according to Bill Polian, so looking for a wide receiver would seem to be a good option. The Giants continue to kick Dallas' rear-end when it comes to drafting wide receivers high. They just picked another one in round 2. They drafted one high last year, too. I think it was a 3rd rounder. They don't put all their eggs in one basket.
Miles Austin and Dez Bryant should not be above competition (for different reasons, imo). Drafting a wide receiver like Joe Adams or Jarius Wright or Chris Childs or dipping back into the Arkansas program could net a quality receiver, who could contribute some this season and provide some depth.
If Miles Austin doesn't run a horrendous route and run with poor running technique and catches Romo's bomb, with the NFC East on the line, the Cowboys win the NFC East. The Giants don't win the Super Bowl.
Laurent Robinson isn't in Dallas, anymore. So, I'd arm the quarterback more if I went offensive skill position in round 4. That seems like a smart move to me.

You now I love your contributions here, SDogo. That being said, if we don't go right back to the trenches, I will have some major draft blues. I want more big ugly players. D or O, don't care but we have enough shiny toys as is.

Then play Tanner. Sign someone off the street that another team cuts. There will be backs available.

Medical for both of them

Boykin? I didn't think his injury was anything that could be considered chronic or continue to effect him at all once he's fully healed.

I don't think Felix is going anywhere.
He is well-liked by Garrett and isn't gonna command a ridiculous contract.
Solid player who fits perfectly as a complement to Murray and return guy. Can also be a 20 carry guy for a short span if Murray is out.
No way I'd draft a Felix clone when there is no reason to lose Felix at all.
If I am going day 3 RB give me Vick Ballard who has tremendous vision and runs tough inside. I want that short yardage ability.
OR give me a Chris Rainey who is more a slot Wr type than a true RB. A scat back if you will.
Miller doesn't run routes as well as Rainey.

Supposedly the Cowboys are going to more of a zone blocking scheme with Callahan.

I think we will go with a rb in the next two rounds.... Either Miller or Gray from Aggieland

People want a 3rd running back more than a starting center, a backup TE, a starting FS, or possibly a backup DT (over Brent Price), or even a 3rd WR. Wow.

I would love to get Miller with the next pick. F. Jones a free agent next year and the way the Cowboys RBs get hurt plus I think he is a different kind of back that would compliment the others

If they are going best player available, I think that is Miller. We have more pressing needs but I wouldnt have a problem with them taking Miller here.

lol oh well. Be interesting to see if he can develop into a good WR over time in Carolina. I know he'll bring a good attitude. I hope to see a couple highlights from him this season.
