Eastern Washington safety Matt Johnson, drafted with the compensatory pick in the fourth round, is a long way from Dallas, but he’s a Cowboys fan.
“My dad was a Cowboys fan, so I remember the first day, watching them with Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin,” he said. “I had the Emmitt Smith jersey growing up. So from the first time I can remember watching football, I was a Cowboys fan.”
He visited Chicago and Philadelphia, also, but was impressed most by Cowboys Stadium.
