Adam Schefter of the NFL Network claims his stock has soared and should be drafted anywhere from #11-#15. He has had interviews with Dallas, San Diego, Houston and will meet with Carolina in the next couple of days.

If you told me a month ago that we would take Ware at #11, I would have done a swan dive out of my 3rd floor window. Now, depending on whose still available, I think it actually might be the best move.

With his athleticism and speed, he's going to be hard to pass. Add to that, he seems like a good kid who will interview well.

I heard Schefter say the same thing on NFL Network. I've said before that if Mike Williams and Braylon Edwards are gone by the 11th pick, then our 11th pick should be Demarcus Ware. Period!

Don't know enough about Ware to have an opinion one way or the other, but whoever we draft at that pick MUST have starting quality skills IMO. Meaning start THIS year, not down the road.

Rick Gosselin who is supposed to be very accurate at doing mock ddrafts has us in his 4/10 mock taking Ware at 11 and Spears at 20.....I wouldn't mind that at all.
Here's a copy of his mock
Rick Gosselin's mock NFL draft (4/10)
Bill Parcells won two Super Bowls in New York with a suffocating defensive front seven. He's been a few pieces short of dominance up front in his two seasons in Dallas. So look for Parcells to load up on big defensive bodies in a 2005 draft where quality defensive linemen are scarce.
Demarcus Ware at 11 would give the Cowboys the best outside speed rusher in the draft, and Marcus Spears at 20 would give them a wide body who can line up at strongside end in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive front.
The draft will be heavy on offense at the top with two quarterbacks, three running backs and two wide receivers projected in the top 10. But this is one of the deepest cornerback boards ever, and three should go early. NFL teams can draft quality corners into the fifth round.
But if you want defensive linemen with a chance to contribute, you'd better grab them early, which is what Parcells figures to do. Here's the first mock draft from The Dallas Morning News:

We need a fast wide receiver! I don't mind the defensive pick for the first one but they sure better shore up at wideout. Actually this team can go in several directions we were so bad last year. I'm not sure any pick is bad.

Yeah, I was real high on Ware before he shot up into the early first, now I'm getting a little worried. I would love to grab him, but prefer at 20.

This is going to be one of the more exciting drafts in recent memory IMO. Draft boards are all over the place with teams falling in love with particular players. I would not be surprised to see a record for trades set on the first day. Teams will be bouncing around all over the place. One interesting thing i noticed is that Goose has Minny picking both Clayton AND WILLIAMS! What is that all about? There is no way Clayton goes before Williams, let alone both players going to 1 team. Goose will change that up in his final mock im sure. But then again, i guess crazier things have happend. If anyone were to tell me last year that at 22 Dallas would be on the clock with all 3 running backs to choose from, i would have told you to pass that bong you were hitting.

I think that would be freakin awesome!! But I think we will trade down a few spots in one of those "leap-frog" trades. I think we take Pollack in our trade down pick, and then Blackstock with our second 1st Rounder. I would want a FS in the second, and with the extra third (trade down), pick a big WR like Jackson.

If we rank ether Merriman or Ware to be worthy of our pick at #11 then we better write his name down and fast!
Nether of the 2 best passrushers in the draft will be there at #20.
I would be fine with ether one at 11...

Demarcus Ware scares the hell out of me at #11. I mean, really, what do we really know about him?

The average fan probably doesn't know much because he didn't get much mainstream media attention before the draft, but the coaches and scouts should know plenty. Its not like he came out of nowhere. He was listed among the top rated pass rushers for the upcoming draft by both BLESTO and National last summer.

Well, I can somewhat agree with this. I have never seen Ware play but I am aware of him through various publications. That being said, I have always been under the impression that he was a DE. I don't think there's really any question about his ability to rush the passer. The only concern that I would have is his ability to move from a DE to an OLB position. Concerns may not be justified here but as I have never seen him, I think you gotta ask yourself, does he project there? 11 is pretty high for him if he doesn't work out at OLB IMO.

He projects into our 3-4 OLB, but would be a attacking type player who would rush the QB and be a force on the offensive side of the LOS...

So, if we play a majority of 43 base, what then? Doesn't sound like he can be an every down DE. Does he just get moved to OLB regardless? Is he situational?

From what I've ready, Ware is versatile enough to drop back in coverage as well.

Everything I read says he has the skills to do it but nothing say he's actully ever done it before. Best I can tell, he's always been a DE.

He can be an every down DE if Dwight Freeney or Jon Abraham can. Jason Taylor weighed 240 lbs. when he came into the NFL and played in a 4-3 for the Dolphins.

I don't know Rosh. I think Taylor is probably the poster boy for this guy, if he is a DE full time. From what I've read, his playing weight, not combine weight, was something like 235 lbs. I don't know if that is indeed a fact but if it is, he's not going to be an everydown DE in the NFL in a 43 scheme. If that's his natural playing weight, he's got to be an OLB in either defense.
I wish I had had a better opportunity to watch this player play.
