Not really, other than I'm amazed that this kid needed only seven syllables to get a day off from school. Back in my day it took at least three sentences and the principle had to be having a bad ****ing day.

+1 Sounds like a powertrip mixed with a total lack of common sense. I have a no tolerance policy on many different behaviour due to ethical and moral objections. At the same time, common sense has to be used. The phrase that was used is not even directed towards the little girl. If I was the girl's parents, I would have an objection to the punishment. It's not a filthy phrase that was used. Just for argument's sake, the Huffington Post is garbage.

what is even more stupid is the fact that we pretty much ask for this. government and ruling bodies work best when they protect people from one another but we have asked them to protect us from ourselves. How are we to expect these people to use a little common sense in judgement in the case of this story when when we sue, and win, against micky d's for not having a hot coffee warning label?

The most ironic thing about what are unacceptable or inappropriate comments by kids? No one tells kids what not to say. Why? Because adults are afraid to teach them something they "think" they do not know but likely do know but have no idea it is considered wrong to say it. Adults are also afraid that if they say, "Don't say this!" then it will entice the child to say it.

I remember as a kid getting in trouble a couple of times for simply repeating things I heard others say without having any idea what the words meant. I just simply associated an event or situation with another similar event or situation that I had seen or been in and remembered what was said at that time by someone else.

I know the "keep our kids innocent as long as possible" thought process still thrives today but using the "freak out on the kid after the fact" tactic is just as ignorant of a tactic today as it was years ago.
