Fourth-round pick Kyle Wilber is likely to miss at least next week's opening to Organized Team Activities (OTAs) while he recovers from a fractured finger.

The Wake Forest outside linebacker suffered the injury on the second day of last weekend's rookie minicamp.

"We fixed that for him yesterday," Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said.

The Cowboys will make sure to keep Wilber on pace with his teammates despite the fact we'll be unable to practice.

Hopefully he can get back out there after a few weeks.

I guess for the time being focus on the mental part of the position.

GRAPEVINE, Texas – On a day when first-round pick Morris Claiborne had the pins removed from his surgically repaired left wrist, Cowboys owner and general manager announced fourth-round pick Kyle Wilber had surgery to repair a fractured right index finger.

UPDATE: Both players will be out until training camp in July, which had been the plan all along for Claiborne. The rookies are scheduled to report to Oxnard, Calif., on July 25, followed a few days later by the veterans.

Shoot. Out until TC . . . .

Well, as long as he can work on the mental aspects, conditioning, etc., it's about all he can do I suppose.

Now you have to wonder if he'll ever be the same player again.

Now you have to wonder if he'll ever be the same player again.

And if he does fully recover, he's now shown himself to be injury prone. ;)
