If anyone of you know how computers work (or subnetting networks) you probably know a little about how binary math works. For those that don't, this is a pretty cool video that explains it.

Good stuff

They say there's only 10 kinds of people in the world-- those who know binary code, and those who don't...

This is a popular quote, but technically I believe that quote is backwards. It should be: "There are 01 kind of people who know binary code."

Of course, that's less confusing to those who don't know binary and therefore never used. :laugh2:

Actually it is 10...

x01 = 2^0 = 1

x10 = 2^1 = 2

That's what makes it confusing to a non-binary understanding person. They think 10 = ten people therefore how can the statement be true? If there are people who understand and people who don't that makes only two people.

That makes it easier for those that "kind of" know it. :D

Awesome! Thanks for posting.

For other cool math stuff check out vedic math. I have always wanted to take some time and learn the few fundamental laws/formulas but i have yet to learn all of them.

That's right. I was thinking a literal 1, not "two" kinds of people. Being the 1 that understands binary.

My wife gave me a tshirt a couple of years ago that says "Relax it's all just 1 and 0's"

To get my CCNA I had to learn it(IP subnetting).
It's not easy when your taking that Cisco exam.

I took the CCNA class I am not one of the Networking guys but I took it to help me troubleshoot from the server side to get a better understanding of how things worked.

A lot of people struggle with the binary code in class it was brutal for a couple of them in that class (about 8 years ago)

How is IPV6 treating you guys now that is some easy math :wink2:
