Gotta love idiocy at it's best.

What is hell is Microsoft thinking? They can't compete in the mobile market and then they want to start a war over mobile devices? Considering it's Motorola, did they think it would stop there?!?!? :omg:

Steve Ballmer has to be the biggest idiot on the planet. How in hell has he been the chief of MS so long?

========================================

"In the long running dispute between Motorola and Microsoft, Judge David Shaw of the ITC recommended Monday an import ban on Xbox 360 S consoles (http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2012/05/itc-judge-recommends-import-ban-on-microsofts-xbox/), as they are found to infringe Motorola's patents (PDF) (http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gadgetlab/2012/05/748131-480637.pdf). The judge also ordered Microsoft post a bond of 7 percent of the retail price of all unsold U.S. Xbox inventory (http://www.courthousenews.com/2012/05/22/46716.htm). The decision will go to the ITC's board of commissioners, who will either uphold the recommendation or overturn it. 'Microsoft argued that Shaw's exclusion order does not serve the public interest because it would leave consumers of video game consoles with only two options to satisfy their needs: the Sony Playstation and the Nintendo Wii. Shaw rejected that argument, finding that the public interest in enforcing intellectual property rights outweighs any potential economic impact on video game console buyers.'"

MS put a lot of small companies out of business in the early days... stealing their intellectual property and then smothering them in court because of their deep pockets...

Motorola ain't Double Space... they have deep pockets, too...

If I remember correctly MS was started using other peoples ideas. My post was intended to be sarcastic.

Well not started on, but their first major product MS-DOS was acquired (QDOS) for $50,000 from Tim Paterson. Prior to that, MS was writing BASIC for different systems.

MS-DOS was the key to their future though.

Wasn't it Bill Gates who said "intellectual property has the shelf life of a banana?" :) Not that he's wrong.
