Sorry. If I get a scratched cornea because some no-talent halfwits get into a fight at a club and club security fails to do their job, I'm getting some money too.

Depends on how bad the injury is. If Tony Parker's earning career as a professional basketball player is ended because his vision is permamently damaged, $20 million is probably cheap. He just turned 30 years old and made $12.5 million in salary last year alone.

Yup. Go to the front page of ESPN. A NJ woman is suing a 13 year old 150k for accidentally throwing a baseball at her.

he flew to san antonio from france to have it looked at and the team is now the one making the decision on whether he plays in the olympics. Id as you to stop being a troll, but that would be like asking a kardashian to stop being an attention whore

The scratch can turn into a corneal ulcer easily if it's infected and in severe cases can lead to loss of eyesight. Trust me this happened to me once it's extremely irritating and scary b/c your eye is completely bloodshot and it feels like something is in your eye. I went to see the doctor after several days and he told me if I waited any longer to come in my eyesight could have been affected.

Basically you have to cover your bases which is why he is filing a suit.

I guess I'm showing my ignorance here but is there a significant difference between the French and French Canadians or Quebecois?

Yeah, they live in different countries.

French are people from France.

French-Canadian includes all french speakers in Canada including those in Quebec. Quebecois are people from the province of Quebec, 85% of whom are french speaking.

So other then the fact that the French live in France and the Quebecois are french speaking people from Quebec, which clearly I already know, you don't know the difference?

Just say that.

That is the difference.

You aren't British because you also speak English.

Are you a Spaniard even if live in US because you speak Spanish.

Quebec has not been part of France since 1760 when it was conquered by the British after the fall of Montreal and confirmed in the Treaty of Paris in 1763, ergo you are not a Frenchman.

You just speak the same language (with obvious differences in accent and word usage) as those in France but you are not the same anymore than an American and an Australian are the same because they both speak English.

I understand that they live in different countries in different parts of the world but you told Derekmtl85 that he was not French but instead French Canadian or Quebecois when he clearly said he was a Frenchman. To that I asked the question, and honest one. You come back with what I clearly already know. If you can't articulate the difference, that's OK but don't post this crap. Obviously, I'm familiar enough with the Language and both countries, Canada and France. If you can't explain why you responded in the manner you did, that's fine. I was simply curious but like some many other interactions with you, I am no longer curious.

Thanks anyway.

I explained the difference, you obviously expect some long winded response setting out some anthropoligical dissertation on the difference.

It is simple, someone from Quebec might speak French but they are not French, those are citizens of France.

Sometimes the simple answer is the correct one.

Of course I assumed the other poster was Quebecois or Canadien-Francais given he is from Montreal but it is possible he is actually a French citizen who immigrated to Canada. However, that is the only way he would be "French".

Anyway, does that answer your question Australian?

No not really. Like I said, I've lost interest in the discussion all together. Sadly, I don't have the patients of an Australian. You probably give me too much credit. Why don't we just leave this discussion here before it goes to far.

Thank you,
