I agree 100%....the novelty started to wear off as the years went on. I remember Season 1 when Simon would tell contestants that they needed to fire their vocal coaches etc. :laugh2:

those auditions are the "cattle call" ones that take place in front of screeners & the show producers. the ones that take place in front of the judges take place sometime in the fall for those who make it past the first bunch of auditions.

I knew that was the case but I thought in years past each city would be 2-3 days consecutively to cover both the "cattle call" and judges auditions? Seems kinda silly to have the whole staff and crew go back to each city twice.
