Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
#Brewers getting shortstop Jean Segura and two Double A pitchers from #Angels for Greinke. "Finishing touches" being applied. Deal is done.

That sucks...I hate to see the Angels get better. I guess the Brewers were looking for a shortstop and we weren't willing to give up Profar. Get ready for Josh Johnson.

Braves strike out again.
Might be time for a new GM in Atlanta.

its gonna be great when we sign him as a free agent after they lose in the wild card and we win the world series :D

...and for the fact that they don't get draft picks when he leaves after their rental of him.
Best thing about it. Rangers have more money and talent in the minors, yet the Angels mortgages their future which they have less of just to finally top the Rangers who are more talented and have more talant in the minor AND more money than them.
Can you say "Angels are pissed they are losing several years in a row to a team they think is inferior"? Little do they realize it is the Angels that are inferior. Hell, CJ wanted to resign here and only went there when the Rangers offered him $30M vs their $75M. Then to blow off steam, outted Napoli by tweating his cell phone number in some lame *** revenege.
The Angels should be called the California Wannabes.

Baring injury to our starting rotation (after they get healthy currently) and Josh wanting to sign for pocket lint by continuing to slack *** like he currently is, I wouldn't worry too much about it. We are still better than they are.

Angels farm was already weaker than ours and it just got even weaker. If Greinke pulls a Lee on them they are screwed. If he resigns for huge money they have a lot of big contracts to deal with. Pujols deal was outrageous, as well as CJ. Our front office can spend money now, but they do it wisely. It seems like we have a plan, and they are just chasing desperately. They have a solid team now though.

In the era of free agency, farm system strength doesn't mean an awful lot for teams that are willing to spend.
The Astros need a good farm system.
The Angels? Not so much.

Still nice to have the pieces for trades like this one tho.
And, . . . . . . . . . . . . when you have guys like Trout.

Nice rental for the Angels. If they want to make a serious run this season, they almost had to pull the trigger. Might as well take a shot this year as the division is far from wrapped up.

I like Greinke better in the NL than the AL. I think the Angels will regret this move.

Maybe...
Meanwhile, look at little old Oakland winning another game. Looks like they're 18-3 so far this month and 33-16 going back to 1 June. After a rough month of May, they seemed to have figured a thing or two out.
