Two weeks ago, the entire 2012 season of Cowboys tight end Jason Witten (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/1990/jason-witten) was in doubt, after suffering an injury to his spleen during a preseason game against the Raiders.
Witten most likely won’t need surgery, and now he’s getting closer to returning to action.
Cowboys executive V.P. Stephen Jones tells 105.4 The Fan in Dallas that Witten is due to have another check-up with physicians next week. In the interim, Witten will engage in more strenuous activity (http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2012/08/29/witten-ready-to-do-good-work-on-field/) as he continues to recover.
He has been working with resistance cords on the side during practice on Monday. Jones said that, come Thursday, Witten “will do some good work on the field.” While there will be no contact, he will “work to max-out his body.”
