Phil Costa gets some work, now on to Giants

ARLINGTON, Texas – Cowboys starting center Phil Costa made his preseason debut Wednesday and was pulled after 12 plays.
“We wanted to get him some action, get him acclimated to some contact to give a feel for playing with good timing,” offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said. “I thought it was good work because their starters were in the game. We kept it real light. He came out of it well and that’s all we wanted to do, just get him in there, get him some contact and pull him out as quick as we could.”
Costa missed the first three preseason games with a low back strain and practiced Monday for the first time since his back tightened up in Oxnard, Calif.
The Cowboys will go into next week’s regular-season opener with their starting five offensive linemen having five days of practice together all summer...
