Florida State defensive end Brandon Jenkins, a two-time All-ACC selection, will miss the rest of the 2012 season due to a left foot injury, a source told CBS Monday night.

The senior, an All-American candidate, was injured in the first half of the Noles season opener, a 69-3 romp over Murray State, last Saturday. Jenkins had also been projected by many NFL draft observers this off-season as a first-round pick. He could use his redshirt season and opt to return to FSU for the 2013 season.

The 6-3, 260-pound Jenkins piled up 21.5 sacks over the past two seasons for the Seminoles. In 2011, the Noles led the ACC in sacks and finished eighth in the nation with 40.

If he declares I wonder if he could be our candidate for draft a first round guy with an injury in the second round candidate for 2013. We didn't get to employ this strategy this year with the trade for Claiborne.

I know that we could use an OLB to replace Spencer who we have been unable to sign to a LT deal.

I always wonder why these teams sign up to play teams they are sure to beat...and then play their star players on top of it all. Build the depth or expose the starters.

Stats, must be the reason. That's stupid.

He will be okay though. That's the good news.
