I know when there is a player that I want the Cowboys to draft I get really nervous everytime Paul Tagliabue reads a name.
This year it is going to be Shawne Merriman for me until our #11.

I am not sure if nervous is the word...maybe anxious is better for me.

I could see anxious as another good descriptor. The problem is that I get a player in mind that I really want to see us draft and therefore a I get nervous only when they are announcing selections. The rest of the time I am anxious.
The most frantic I ever was - 2002 they had war room draft camera in Dallas.
The clock goes under 1:00 and JJ is fumbling with the phones. Picking one up talking. Clock now under 30 seconds it hit me. JJ was going to miss the damn pick. Sure enough more fumbing on phones andd JJ stuttering - hard to read his lips....
Clock goes to Zero. We miss the pick and I believe it was Minny trying to rush up and pick. Roy is on the available. I thought JJ was going to F it up real bad. the NFL ruled we made the trade and were ok. I was talking to my TV the whole time using some really bad language....
I'm never anxious or nervous, since i don't watch much college ball i never have a player i hope the cowboys get and for all the reviews people give on draftees you never can tell how each one will pan out in NFL. I won't sit and watch the draft pick by pick, but i will check in every 30 minuets to an hour to see whats going on. Then afterward i'll go on line and look for reviews of the palyers we get. though i am more excited about this years draft because of the picks we have, because i think parcells is a good drafter and just because i've learned a bit about cetain college players from being on this message board. so i guess i'm excited and curious but not nervous.

I usually get gas on draft day. As a result, my wife usually leaves the house and goes shopping.
In 2001, I got so much gas on draft day that I thought I was going to explode.

TMI Tuna. I love draft day because it's an all day excuse to not have to talk to my wife. If I push it, it could be an all weekend excuse with Day 2 on the Deuce.

I'll get nervous when they DON'T call his name. I have watched some of his games and he gets out of position so much. He makes up for it because he is a good athlete, but in the NFL, everyone is a good athlete. The Little Sisters of the poor are not on our sked. I would rather have Ware if we go D on the first pick.
But yes, I do get a little jittery waiting for the guy I want to NOT be taken. Last year it was Steven Jackson. Imagine my stomach when he was there and we traded out. Man. But it all worked out fine so far.

I'm right there with you on that one. I was screaming my lungs out at the TV when it looked like JJ had missed making our pick in time.

I try not to lock in on one particular player, I think where we are in the draft we will have a number of players there to look at and depending on how they grade out on our board I think we will get a quality player. Myself I'll be on the Golf course and should be home before the Cowboys pick, I'm going to enjoy the draft not stress out over it.

You'll shoot your eye out!
Anxious is a better word. It's so close, I'm starting to feel the jitters now. I absolutely love draft day.

I used to get way to worked up over it. Last year I thought i was going to soil myself when we passed on SJ. I think I probably scared the kids a little ( and there half grown). But the way it all worked out really taught me a good lesson. Just wish I didn't have to leave 1/2 way thru and go work graveyard.

i couldn't tolerate people at work with all their asinine draft predictions.
Can't wait til Saturday. It's going to be a good day. Follow the draft, then the Mavs play at 4, then there's Pride fighting later on that night. Then celebrate the picks of Mike Williams and Ware and a safety plus a Mavs win that night with lots of drinks.
GO COWBOYS!!! GO MAVERICKS!!!

I think the only time I got anxious was when I thought Jammer and Williams would be available for the Cowboys. Then when the Chargers picked Jammer, I was chanting, Roy, Roy, Roy (on the internet since I was talking to fellow Cowboys fans in another chat room).
Each year, I've had a Tee-ball game on draft day. For the first two years, the games have been early before the draft starts, and I've been able to get back home before the start. This year, I had a game scheduled for noon CST. I had the commissioner move my game to the 10:30 a.m. slot because (I told him) of the NFL draft. He arranged it so that I could swap with the other teams and now I have the 10:30 a.m. slot. I'll miss an hour of the draft, but that will be roughly four picks, plenty of time to get back and rejoin the forum before the Cowboys pick.
I told my wife to stay off the computer because I'm going to be watching the draft (I can watch it on my computer via Dell's Media Center) and chatting in two chat rooms - including the CowboysZone - at the same time.

I was the exact same way last year with him. And then when I heard they traded out, all I remember was the one guy in the audience that had his hands on his head in amazement that we didn't take him.
I have a draft party with my friends down here in Danville every year. We should start one in this area because there are a lot of Cowboys fans up here.

Well I know im probably the biggest cowboys fan on the zone and in the world. The fact that I get so nervous 3 months before the draft and next years draft I doubt anyone can match how I feel, only exceptions my brother and the actual players that are getting drafted.. SO YES I GET REALLY NERVOUS.. Just think I was in Greece last summer on vacation and the only thing on my mind was the season and the draft!! HOW LOW CAN I GET?

I definitely agree with that also. However, I pretty much know he will be off the board.
