:mad: I want!

=========================================

In just six weeks, nearly 90 percent of eligible neighborhoods around Kansas City have signed up for Google Fiber.

The company wrote in a blog post yesterday that at least 180 out of 202 "fiberhoods" have already qualified for the super-high-speed Internet service. Google says that it's still processing verification requests, and should be able to hand over the final list later this week.

Google opened up its pre-registration for Fiber six weeks ago. The 1-gigabit-per-second service will cost customers $70 per month. The fast speeds are available for both uploads and downloads, and come with 1 terabyte of data storage and a network box to deliver the service.

I wonder how long it takes Verizon and others to lower their 30-50 mbps download speed.

It is fairly common for data centers to have 10 GB networks so there is plenty of head room to grow for the Internet. It is just a matter of the cost coming down to make it viable for ISPs to offer higher speeds.

I'm in the process of purchasing a pair of Juniper QFX3500 (http://www.juniper.net/us/en/products-services/switching/qfx-series/qfx3500/)s. ;) Each one has 48 ports of 10GbE low latency goodness! Oh and 4 additional ports of 40GbE goodness!

Tell her work is paying for it but you need it to do some special work at home for work at work and spray in the word work and important more than needed just to try and confuse her...if that does not work, talk about possible buying something that she is interested in as in Jewelry or clothes.

That is chump change

Currently 10Gb nic cards are norm on new servers and we have two data centers that can leverage the 10GB's with CAT6. We run 10GB between are building and have a redundant 10GB connection to are new campus 60 miles away.

40GB bandwidth should be out this year or next and they are schedule to have 100GB by 2016.

Getting that to your house is a different story but inside data centers while that is a different story.
