considering we go de/lb with our 2 first rounders.. which duo do you like the best.
i think derrick johnson and erasmus james. a pass rushing DE with the best linebacker in the draft.
i think we'd be hurting ourselves with a draft of merriman and ware, they are essentially the same.

No. I mean Thomas Davis.

No. I mean Thomas Davis.
My bad. I completely forgot about him. Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing Spears & the most productive player in the NCAA over the last 3 years: David Pollack.

DJ and james would be sweet, assuming we stay with the 4-3.

Merriman/Ware. Unlikely though.
Merriman/Pollack. More likely... and I'd love it. There's our 2 OLB's in a 3-4 and pass rush DE's in a 4-3.
Speed. Quickness. Athleticism. Versatility.
Happy me.

I like Pollack well enough but I don't know how well he projects to LB. I think it will be interesting to see how well he makes this switch, assuming he is asked to do so.

DJ and anybody would be ok with me. James, I don't love but DJ,well, that's another story all together.

I'd go with Merriman for OLB first....then I'd take the best DE at #20.

a healthy james is probably the best pass rushing DE in the draft. his health is of concern though. i'd take him at 20 and not think twice, not #11 though. but i doubt he makes it to 20.
i wouldnt let injury throw him out the door on us though, he had a hell of a senior season.

I agree - I would be happy as all get out if we landed the Merriman/E. James tandem.

If the Cowboys did manage to get Ware and Merriman. BP would go to primarily a base 3-4 and play Ware at WLB and Merriman at SLB.

Put me down for Merriman and Blackstock. Ware is intriguing though.

Mark me down for Spears as the first pick. At number 20, see if you can move down for an extra third round pick and still get Blackstock. If not, take the best pass rusher available - which may still be Blackstock.

It could be considered a reach by some but I take him at #20. I watched him play several times throughout his career and came away with the impression that he is a playmaker. He has pop and makes alot of plays on the other side of the line of scrimmage. He chases plays down from behind well, very good pass rusher off the edge.

James and Johnson wont be available to us at 11 and 20...we could get one of them at 11.
We wont draft davis, we dont need a SS or undersized LB, otherwise we could have kept Coakley

It cracks me up how everybody knows what is going to happen. At this point, any of these options could happen.

I would love to get Derrick Johnson and Marcus Spears. That would give us a monster front-4 with some good all-around LBs behind them (well at least two of them anyway, still don't know about James yet).
It may not address the pass-rusher issue but I think we would be able to put pressure on the QB a lot better than in recent years.
The problem is that neither guy is likely to be there when we pick (Johnson at #11 & Spears at #20).
Realistically, I think we could get Merriman and Pollack and I would be very happy.
If the 4-3 stays, I'd like DJ and Pollack.

1. Ware.......Pollack, Tuck, Roth....
2. Merriman./ Pollack
3. Spears.......Pollack......after SD. & Houston select the only player left on the board will be Pollack ???? Tuck & Roth, maybe James. James will fall because of injury problems.
Had to be different from Sarge. :D

Other combos I'd like:
Pollack & Ware
Pollack & James

A Blackstock combo of some sort would be nice too actually.

I wouldn't be shocked if he was there at 11, allthough he could definitely go before that. But even if he's there at 11, is he a BP guy? I've heard people say that BP has said some bad things about DJ (haven't seen any actual quotes though).
