There was talk about this new show in one of the other threads. Some people seemed interested in it.

The link above has the full first episode of the show.

I think I will give it a try.

They took the NBC Revolution strategy.. Hmm. Well I will check this pilot out but I don't think this will top Revolution. Gus Fring from Breaking Bad made that pilot A+.

Thanks for posting. I just watched it.

I loved it. The acting and dialogue was a tad cheesy here and there, but it seems like the kind of show that will gel a bit better after a couple of episodes. I just hope they give it the time.

This seems like the type that will just be a fun ride with characters that you grow attached to and throws a twist at you now and then. You can't compare it to Breaking Bad or Lost or anything like that because it's a different animal.
I hope it stays around.

As a retired Navy man, I could nit pick it death, but not going to. I did find it very entertaining and will watch it rest of the season.

Out of curiosity, how do television shows and movies generally get these things inaccurately? I'm pretty sure most of these productions have an adviser from the Navy.

I'm actually curious to know what you would nitpick about. I've always wanted to know what was real or fake as far as being a submariner goes.

Reminds me of Crimson Tide with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington.

1. There are lack of officers onboard the sub. You would have various division officers, but weapons officer should be very critical component of the sub.

2. The COB will never, ever address LT by first name, period

3. LT won't be quiet while enlisted are ridiculing her, she would have put them in their place immediately. Full LT is not a newbie, She would have had at least 4 years of learning her job and dealing with subordinates.

4. When crossing the equator, the tradition is going through a initiation, initiating WAGs (those who never crossed the equator) to become a Shellback, not playing few songs

5. Noway Capt. address Admiral by first name, that simply won't happen

6. SEAL team members will not question officers while they are going through the authentication of an order, that is so far fetched, completely unbelievable.

7. The lack of military protocol between enlisted and officer is very disheartening and gives wrong impression to civilians about the Navy, while we aren't hardcore like Marines, but there are strict protocol between enlisted and officers.

Those are few of the things that I remembered.

Gotcha. Thank you. Seems like most of those things were done for the sake of character development rather than just outright getting things wrong. I'm glad our real navy is more no nonsense than the show portrays, but I can see why the writers had to take certain liberties.

Yes, I do see why as well, but overall, I did enjoy the pilot and will continue to watch it.

Yep, poetic license and all. And like ya'll are saying, I think most of the things listed are to advance storyline, character development & relationships, and to play into perhaps some twists to come.

How about a US warship firing on a boomer that has a "rogue captain"? How about authentication orders to launch nukes coming through secondary non-secure channels like they did?

Well the non secure channel makes some sense because the official channels are much more likely to be spied on.

Not really but I won't argue. People hate for no reason.

Liked the pilot, I don't know how long this story could go. Can't go for longer than 2 seasons and a short 3rd, it is too volatile of a plot. Love politically based shows and it looks like this one will have alot of political drama so I look forward to more.

I watched it and it was pretty good but i hope they have thought this through.Nuking pakistan will have major repercussions in the sub-continent and beyond.Pakistan have mobile nukes and they will definitely use it against India which will have no option other than to the obliterate pakistan from the face of the earth.China and the rest of middle east will get involved.

If the US nuked Pakistan, you're saying Pakistan's response would be to nuke India?
