I burnt my fingers badly a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure its a first degree burn. The doctor actually told me that's what it was. I tried putting some ointment that he gave me, took some pills, and used some moisturizer but nothing seems to work. They burn like bad. Everytime I wash my hands they burn. I can't even workout or play basketball right now effectively. Any advice on how to heal them? It even hurts when I clap like during games although I wasn't doing to much of that today. :laugh2:

"weeks ago"?
What kind of burn? Electrial, chemical, heat?
1st degree usually shouldn't last for weeks.

Like two weeks ago and a heat burn.

Should have use the "ointment" before you got the "heat" burn.
:laugh2:
And it should already be better if it is indeed only 1st degree. Perhaps your doc is an idiot.

Get one of these, although you probably will not be playing b-ball.

Usually a first degree burn would heal up faster than that. I'd put neosporin on and bandage them up during the day and then let them breathe at night. If you're not healing, make sure you're eating right and sleeping enough.

Personally...I'd just rub some dirt on them.

Go back and see the doctor. He should be able to fix you right up.

Are you anemic? Healing is difficult. Do you work with your hands everyday? Wear and tear will slow the healing process.
