Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate said Monday that he was praying he didn’t get fined by the NFL for the blindside hit he delivered Sunday on Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee.

Tate posted the following statement on his official Twitter page Sunday evening (https://twitter.com/ShowtimeTate/status/247510615709605888):

“I hope Sean Lee is ok. I never have intentions on injuring another player. It’s football which means Its physical, dirty hit would be if I went for his head or neck area.”

But Tate wasn’t too remorseful when he heard that Lee said the Seattle receiver wouldn’t be celebrating the way he did if the two players met up one-on-one.

“He has his own opinion of what he thinks,” Tate said Monday. “I’d be upset if I was on that highlight, being crushed. But I’m a lover not a fighter so if it came to one-on-one we’ll deal with that whenever that time comes.

Lee basically said he would whoop his *** if he saw him. What do you expect Tate to say?

Tate talks smack then makes sure to throw in, "but I'm a lover not a fighter." Between the after (illegal) block dancing around and now this... what a punk! If not a punk, he's sure looking to be a classless little man.

LOL PRETTY MUCH. I'm only pissed that he celebrated and got the chance to do so lol. I'm not pissed at what he did or his remarks. He's 100% correct.

It was an illegal hit. He got fined for it.

But its football, and stuff like that happens.

What makes him a punk is two things:

1) Celebrating after the hit.

2) Saying you are lover and not a fighter. Sean Lee called you out, and you are laying down like a wimp. He's a sissy.

I hope we do play them again, and I hope he has the "balls" to go across the middle.

Like anything would be different.

They would pound it up the middle a few times and our team would quit. They are SOFT.

They always say the right things but refuse to do anything in the game.

I hope we seem them in the playoffs. Tate needs to be taught a lesson. Soft cowards from notre dame shouldn't try to act like tough guys. It comes off as being corny.

He comes off as the type to get ***** slapped, talk a ton of ****, then when security/friends/cops come to hold the other person back, or him back...he would start getting hype, like he wants to fight.

It's funny hearing a guy who hasn't done anything in the NFL talk ****. golden Tate is garbage and will be out of the league very soon. So enjoy your moment

I hate that the NFL is fining him for a "blindside hit", a blindside hit is a good football play, he should be getting fined for launching his head at Lee's. It's no different than a safety helping over the top and leading with his head like we've seen get fined several times over the last few years.
