Rejoice TW subscribers!
The National Football League reached agreement with Time Warner (TWC) Cable Inc. to carry the league-owned NFL Network and RedZone Channel, a person with direct knowledge of the situation said.
The multiyear accord may be announced later today, according to the person, who was granted anonymity because the contract hasn’t been signed. New York-based Time Warner, the second-largest U.S. cable company with about 12 million subscribers, had been the only major cable provider without the NFL Network. It isn’t known when the channels will appear on Time Warner systems, the person said.
The agreement comes about a month after the most-watched U.S. sports league reached agreement with Cablevision Systems Inc. to carry the two channels.

If you are a time warner cable customer and have been waiting for this...congrats!
Although you also have to take the bad with the good, so prepare to annoyed to no end by the NFL Network showing the same 2-3 commercials over and over and over to the point that when you hear the ads starting it has the same body jerking effect as an alarm clocking going off in the morning. :laugh2:

after years of waiting, I finally got tired of it and, very reluctantly switched to DirecTV last month. I would still prefer to have TWC, but I guess I'll have to wait 2 years.
...wait, it's just for NFLN & Redzone right? What about NFL GameMix? Because *THAT* I am loving

You would prefer cable over DirecTV? You would have to pry my DirecTV from my cold dead hands for me to not want it.
There isn't anything that compares to DirecTV and that includes cost.
Cable companies are a rip off.

DirecTV can't be too happy about this

Eh, I don't think they'll lose a whole lot. People weren't getting a dish just for one channel I woudln't think, it's not like TW is getting the whole NFL package.
I know I'm freakin pumped though :laugh2:

Damn, I didn't realize they signed a deal with Cablevision. I have NFL Network now! I have to get the Sports package to get Red Zone though.
Though it's weird. I thought when I had Redzone before I could watch several games at once by cascading the games on the screen. I'm guessing you can't do that anymore.

I'm still getting used to DirecTV. But NFLN was literally the only reason I switched...that and my buddy had been pushing me to switch for 2 years now so he could get the -10$/mo. I'm gonna end up paying about the same thing as I did w/ TWC and get a few more channels. I will say that the picture quality is much nicer and the channel guide is fast and the grouping is great.
yeah I like it so far, definitely growing on me

Therein is the catch! No FULL games or game mix. So just redzone and NFLN - Not enough to make me switch, which I'd love to do!
Went out last night for the game. Every sports bar in our area is unhappy. I'm happy!

Apparently TWC negotiates contracts for BrightHouse which I have. Oh thank you for getting NFL Network and RedZone. I'm ecstatic to have RedZone. Or at least that it's coming to the local cable provider. That means my fantasy league can get together and watch some highlights instead of the local Miami/Jacksonville games. :puke:

I didn't realize TW didn't offer those two channels. I have Comcast and have had NFL network a while, Redzone was added this year.

I don't particularly care for NFL Network, but football is better than no football, so I find myself watching that show pretty often.

Not possible. The NFL hasn't approached me regarding my dog yet (she'd be #1, easily).

It is extra, but not much. For Comcast, just had to upgrade my package one tier. Think it is like $5 extra a month.

Expired this passed Tuesday the 18th. but w/o GameMix and SundayTicket, it's just not worth it.
